September 5, 2017To whom it may concern:I am writing this letter in response to a complaint that was received at your office. I am the owner of Kastle River Appraisals and one of my clients, [redacted], contracted my company to perform an appraisal at [redacted] Street SE, Washington, DC, 20019....

We gladly accepted the contract and strived to give Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] quality work and customer service.  Because Kastle River Appraisals was contracted through a client, [redacted], Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] did not pay us, nor was the company paid $425.00. Also, Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] felt that a two day turn-around for their appraisal was a rush job. A standard turn-around-time for an appraisal report is two days and therefore, it would not be considered a ‘rush’ job. Mr. [redacted] contacted our office on several occasions in an attempt to get the value of opinion within the report changed. While on the phone, he would become very aggressive and insistent;  because of this, phone calls had to be terminated. Ultimately, Mr. [redacted] was told about an appeals process because he was not accepting of his appraisal report. Even after the appeals process was discussed with him, he continued to contact the office in an attempt to get his report amended.Once our office received the appeal, the complaint was reviewed with the comparable that was provided. Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] believe and stated on several occasions, that the value of their home was $270,000, but it was also explained to Mr. [redacted] that the comparable home that was provided was not actually comparable because unlike his, it was a home that was completely gut- renovated,  making the value of that home significantly higher.  This comparable home was an actual home valued at $270,000, which I believe is the source of his discontent and misunderstanding.  Lastly, but most importantly, there were no inconsistencies noted for review in the appeals process, which Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] noted themselves in their letter to you. Thank you for your time,Jason B
