When Ms.[redacted] emailed us to let us know that she did not like the cake, her email started out (verbatim): "Hi[redacted], everyone loved the cake. The presentation was awesome. It was delicious." She informed us about the spots, and attached...
pictures of the cut cake. There were spots, but we understood that perhaps she was not satisfied with the quantity of them. Our response, verbatim, was: i'm glad that you enjoyed the cake! I do apologize that you were disappointed with spots. As shown in the pictures, there were spots, but perhaps not enough?
to amend the situation, i'd love to give you 10% off your next cake order with kate's cakes Chicago. it was a pleasure working with you, and we do hope to get the chance again."
If Ms.[redacted] had wanted some sort of refund, while we would not have refunded half, as the part she wasn't happy with did not come close to half of the cake amount, and she was otherwise happy, we would have discussed this with her, had she informed us that some sort of refund or reimbursement was what she was after. We would be fully willing to reimburse her the cost of the spots, as that was what she felt she paid for but did not receive.

Ms[redacted]'s response is unacceptable, just as her original offer to settle (10% discount on a future cake order) was unacceptable. Ms[redacted] pain and simply did NOT produce theitem she reassured me she would. A sample photo of what I wanted was sent to[redacted] via email. A contract was drawn up by Ms[redacted] herself, describing the details of the cake wanted. LEOPARD PRINT SPOTS INSIDE THE CAKE...Again the reason for choosing[redacted]'s Cakes Chicago was because I was guaranteed in writing that she could do the job. Attached is a photo of he same sample photo sent to Ms[redacted] along with the finished product. Sample photo on the left/finished product on the right. I bagged about how spectacular the cake was to be. Instead it was just another baby shower cake. I am seeking the refund of half the paid amount. Also, more documentation will be sent via U.S. Postal Service, including the cake contract and emails shared between[redacted] and myself.
