To Whom it May Concern,The response from this business is entirely false. It is filled with inaccuracies and outright fabrications. Katherine has house sat for us before, that is true. house/pet sat for three or four times total. I wish to add that the only reason we hired them this last time, was because plans with another house sitter fell through at the last minute. As for claims of "cheating" her, that is simply an attempt to defame my character – as is most of her fabricated response. We had paid the same amount for two times. Then, earlier this year Katherine raised her prices, explaining it was because they bought a house and were having a hard time making payments. We agreed on a slightly higher rate. I have saved text messages that confirm this. The next time we hired her, she tried to hit us with an even higher price when we returned home. I showed her the text where we had already agreed on a price, and she agreed, making some excuse about having a bad memory. The following time we hired them, she tried yet again to raise her price. I texted her that I would have to find another service because we had already agreed to one raise this year; two was getting a bit ridiculous. She texted me to say that she would rather take that price than lose our business. I also have that message saved. She has never declined to house sit for us. In fact, she sent us a letter once asking if we would buy "special food" for them when they are here. We have been shocked by the audacity of this pair more than once. This entire discussion strays from the original complaint, but I include it as an example of how Katherine has fabricated her response which I believe is in an effort to dodge the real issue – the fact that my cat was left locked in a closet for days on end without food or water.The long and short of it, is that Katherine and her boyfriend do NOT provide the service that they claim they do. For one thing, they are supposed to give us periodic reports as to the welfare of our pets. They do not. Updates are few and far between if they come at all. During this last visit, we were only contacted about questions they had as far as how to use expensive electronic equipment – equipment that they were never given permission to use. I once made the mistake of referring Katherine to someone after the first time she house sat for us. I contacted that person after this recent incident to let her know about it. That person told me that they were very unhappy, and have Katherine on video, as proof that she did not stay in the home as she claimed to have; that there were huge gaps of several hours when her pets had been left unattended. In addition, I had a conversation with yet one more person who was very dissatisfied with the service Katherine and her boyfriend provided. I did contact an attorney, two in fact, and was advised to take Katherine to small claims court. I chose to file with the Revdex.com first, because I wanted this complaint to show on her record if anyone ever chose to look her up. The fact that my cat is declawed, as Katherine pointed out, is irrelevant. All cats need to use a litter box. When one is unavailable for several days, they go wherever they can. As for our damage, we shampooed the carpet (several times) and disposed of the shoes and boots that were ruined. My cat was very traumatized by this event. I only regret that I did not call the police immediately upon finding our cat. We were very shaken by the incident at the time, and did not realize that what had occurred was a criminal act. The [redacted] made me aware of the fact when I contacted them the next day.Katherine claims to have sent me a letter. I have received no such letter. I can only surmise that is simply another fabrication. As for waiting "6 1/2 hours to contact her," that is just one more false statement. I contacted her via her cell phone about the cat before her car turned the corner out of my cul-de-sac. I watched her turn the corner as her cell phone was ringing. I expected her to turn around and come back to apologize at the very least. Instead she beat a path to the bank to cash our check. My bank can verify that time.I would like to have the amount paid to this person refunded to me. I feel that this is more than fair, considering the cost to my personal property and trauma to my pet. I also wish to get the message of what occurred in my home, out to as many people as possible. I feel without a doubt, that Katherine would be better off doing some other kind of job. I feel that she is not competent to care for pets or to house-sit. The "care" offered by she and her boyfriend pose a very dangerous scenario for anyone's pets.

I did not buy a house I simply moved closer to my mom after my dad passed away. Yes, I did say that I would rather take the lower payment and keep them as clients because at the time I felt like [redacted] was worth the lower payment when ALL my other clients agreed to the raise in my price. I have always stayed at the house when I was watching unless I went to the grocery store or was given permission to leave for a reason. We have NEVER asked for special food; I do have where it is the client’s discretion to buy us food if they prefer but we do not ask or require it.  [redacted] DID NOT call me about the cat, she sent me a text message when I was driving. How would [redacted] know if my phone was ringing when I was IN the car leaving, I picked up my phone to call my fiancé to let him know I was on my way home. I ALWAYS send a daily text/ e-mail or call regarding the day and how things were with their pets. The ONLY thing electronic thing I asked about was their DVD player that I have used before and have paperwork from them, explaining how to use it but this time the DVD player would not work and that is because [redacted] said that something happened and they had to unplug everything and the DVD probably just never got hooked back up and they never noticed it since they do not use the DVD player very often. I am sorry if you never received a letter, I am not responsible for the post offices actions. After [redacted] sent out the texts to all my clients, several of my clients did contact me and tell me about it and how they told her off since they have never had any problem with me and my services. In fact, one client is leaving her 4 dogs and 2 cats to me in their will! I have also spoken to the [redacted] and the [redacted] and a couple of lawyers and they all said the same thing, that [redacted] does not have any PROOF. Courts do require proof as well and there is none that I did anything wrong in my service. [redacted] has been asked to provide proof and she never has.
