February 23, [redacted] Revdex.comDear [redacted] ,This letter is in response to ID# [redacted] Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond. On August 17, we did a consultation with the customer in regards to the structure she was interested inWe provided a free quotation package at her request, She expressed interest in having us do the projectWe informed her that our tentative schedule was 12-weeks and we require a signed contract and $down payment to hold her slot on the schedule and to supplement costs incurred before constructionWith our schedule at 12-weeks, we lose a significant number of potential projects because of the timelineThe $1,down payment for a project of this scale is quite low and generous on our part, especially if a customer decides to breech a contract. The customer showed up at our office approximately one week before our start date (which was on the early side of our tentative projection for a start date) and when an additional $6,was due for us to startShe expressed that she found a "cheaper" price and someone who could do the job soonerShe also expressed regrets in not having us doing the job because of our good reputationWe have refunded down payments in the case of a death in the family, etc but will not typically remind a down payment if someone simply changes their mind and breeches the? contract. We are more than willing to fulfill our part of the contract and we are not making any demands to the customer or billing her for costs we incurred due to her breeching the contract approximately one week before our start date.Sincerely,Robert K [redacted] Kauffman Metals

Review: I had to cancel contract on shed due to finding a better deal. I put 1000.00 on down payment of total purchase. There was no oral or written reference to keeping money if contract would be cancelled. I feel this should be returned. I wrote Mr. K[redacted] as to this fact 12/07/15 and have not heard back. I had to travel an hour to reach the shop, which if I had known I would not receive my money, I could have just called to cancel.Desired Settlement: Kauffman's needs to return my $1,000.00. The estimate was free as per advertisement.

February 23, 2013[redacted]Revdex.comDear [redacted],This letter is in response to ID# [redacted]. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond. On August 17, 2015 we did a consultation with the customer in regards to the structure she was interested in. We provided a free quotation package at her request, She expressed interest in having us do the project. We informed her that our tentative schedule was 12-14 weeks and we require a signed contract and $1000.00 down payment to hold her slot on the schedule and to supplement costs incurred before construction. With our schedule at 12-14 weeks, we lose a significant number of potential projects because of the timeline. The $1,000.00 down payment for a project of this scale is quite low and generous on our part, especially if a customer decides to breech a contract. The customer showed up at our office approximately one week before our start date (which was on the early side of our tentative projection for a start date) and when an additional $6,000.00 was due for us to start. She expressed that she found a "cheaper" price and someone who could do the job sooner. She also expressed regrets in not having us doing the job because of our good reputation. We have refunded down payments in the case of a death in the family, etc but will not typically remind a down payment if someone simply changes their mind and breeches the contract. We are more than willing to fulfill our part of the contract and we are not making any demands to the customer or billing her for costs we incurred due to her breeching the contract approximately one week before our start date.Sincerely,Robert K[redacted]Kauffman Metals
