Review: I flew to Madison, WI, to Kayser Nissan, to purchase a vehicle from Indiana. I questioned an additional $102 on the invoice and was told it was to handle the title transfer fees because of being from a different state. When I went to get plates in Indiana, they title was never transferred to Indiana. Instead, they filled out a Wisconsin title and plate application. They knew I had flown in from Indiana. Why would I want to title and plate the vehicle in Wisconsin? I believe it was so they could collect the fee. They could have signed the existing title over to me and I could have brought it back to Indiana and had it transferred on my own, which I know have to do anyway. so they charged me $$102 for something they were aware I didn't need and now I am out an additional cost due to the title having to be transferred again.

I also noticed on the purchase contract that they have the dealer retail price of a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 set at $109,995.00, then they give me a discount of $102,006.00 to get the price down to the asking price. It's pretty obvious they are playing with numbers here. Are they doing this to avoid taxes, pretty up reports, or what? Just an additional something you may want to investigate because something isn't right there.Desired Settlement: Refund for the title/plate application fee that I should never had put in front of me to begin with in the amount of $102.00, I will eat the late fee in Indiana this is going to cost me. Also, a look at their books to see who these fictitious numbers are benefiting.

Mr. [redacted] & the Revdex.com,

I am writing in response to the two issues you raised about your recent vehicle purchase at Kayser.

Issue 1: DMV fees of 102: Per Wisconsin law, a dealer, selling any vehicle, must generate a title, if there is a lienholder on the vehicle. For out of state purchases, this may sound redundant, and it is, since you will be titling the vehicle in IN anyway, but since you borrowed money from your credit Union, we had to generate a title. There is no way for us to legally sell you a car and simply sign over the title to you, if there will be a lien on the title. This is really to protect the financial institutions interest in the asset. The 102 fee goes to the State, so our dealership does retain nor would have a financial interest in charging unecesary DMV fees. I think they have enough money coming in already....

A breakdown of the DMV fees are below.

Title Fee 69.50

Loan Filing Fee 10.00 - to list the lienholder

License Plate Fee - 3.00 - For your temporary plate

Processing Fee - 19.50 - Can't explain that one, only that's government for ya.

Issue 2: typo on the price. My apologies, but our Finance Manager, must have typed one too many nines in the initial price of 10,995 (109,995) however...the same mistake was done on the amount of discount, so the contract accurately reads your cash price of 8,138. This is simply a typo...nobody has will benefit from the mistake as those numbers had no associated cash values and the discount negated the 109,995 to arrive at the correct cash price. I apologize for the confusion, it does look odd.

I know it must be nerve racking to buy a car from a dealer in another state and you must wonder if an how you will be treated fairly.

We're lucky to have many customers who drive to us from IL, MN, IA and only a few from IN to purchase their cars.

But, the states DMV offices and laws all operate differently and that can make it a headache for our out of state customers.

I would work with your credit union to get the appropriate paperwork needed to satisfy the IN DMV.

Feel free to call me, however, [redacted] would probably be more help to you with DMV questions.

Thanks for the business William and I hope the S10 works well for you for many years....the couple that owned it prior took great care of it.

Best,

Kayser sold me a silver ford fusion 2010 about 2 months ago that had patch work done to the bumper to cover up scrapes and gouges across the right side of the bumper and a rust spot around the right wheel the size of a quarter wheel. They tried covering it on the bumper with what looks like spray paint. After the first carwash I noticed the paint coming off on the bumper and around the wheel where the rust is. I also called the next day about a spare key and got the cold shoulder. Called a second time... never heard anything from anyone.

I am never buying another car from them again. Very shady dealership

My fiance and recently welcomed a baby boy into the world so we are looking into purchasing an SUV for the extra interior space. We looked at local dealers but weren't satisfied with the prices so we turned to the Internet and found a silver 2011 Nissan Rogue SL at Kayser Nissan in Madison. We scheduled an appointment to test drive the vehicle and liked it until I got out of the car and walked around to inspect the exterior: on the passenger side of the vehicle were two dented scratches that spanned across both door panels (these were NOT visible in the online pictures). I pointed this out to the sales rep and he said "he had just seen that before he pulled it up for us to test drive". We went inside to talk it over and, upon asking for an adjustment on the price for the damage, the sales rep pulled out a two-page estimate (even though he had supposedly seen it only 15 minutes earlier). The damage totaled to $650 and claimed the retail price of the Rogue was adjusted to compensate for that; keep in mind we had already test drove a black 2011 Nissan Rogue SL with LESS miles in Milwaukee for the same exact price and no damage, my fiance just preferred the silver paint. We brought this up to the sales rep and he then introduced his manager, who said there was nothing he could do about adjusting the price and would not fix the damage and then sell it to us for the same price either. Who wants to buy a $19,000 vehicle and then drive it home to make $650 worth of repairs to the door panels? Not us; we will not be recommending Kayser Nissan to any of our friends or family members.

Review: the vehicle I purchased October 8th 2014 has a bad transmission dealer refuses to repair. There is no way I destroyed my transmission in 2 weeks of owning vehical. Filed claim with DOT under lemon law.Desired Settlement: Replace transmission at dealer cost.

Response:

Dear [redacted] & Revdex.com of WI,Re: [redacted], ID # [redacted]I just spoke with [redacted] today, 11.6 and informed her we will be replacing the transmission at no cost to her. The vehicle was sold "as is" but we were able to get the repair covered under our 2 year 100,000 mile Q Certified Powertrain Warranty Program.Thank you,

Review: Our 2005 Ford Escape was towed to Kayser Ford on November 16, 2015. It was taken there by our insurance company, AAA, after it was involved in an accident. It is now December 28, 2015 and the vehicle is still not repaired. We keep receiving conflicting information about what is wrong with the vehicle. It sat there a month before anyone even started working on it. They now informed us that there is over $1,400 worth of additional damage that was just discovered that they say was not caused by the accident even though these things worked before the accident. We have repeatedly called Kayser and AAA over the last month and a half to get this vehicle repaired and keep getting the run around. It is causing a great inconvenience to be without this vehicle.Desired Settlement: We would just like the vehicle repaired. We have told them repeatedly we do not really care how the vehicle looks we just want it to run mechanically. We are ready to have it towed to another mechanic. We believe they have finished the body work but we don't know what is going on with the mechanics of the vehicle and why this is taking so long.

Response:

I have been in contact with [redacted] our Service Director today, and he has been on the phone with Mr. [redacted] to give a reasonable [redacted]eline for repairs to be completed. It sounds like both have agreed, early next week would be acceptable. My apologies for this repair taking so long, it sounds like we dropped the ball on communicating what the vehicles status was to you. We also have had some unexpected staff turnover, which has caused problems & delays with our service experience. We also had a more complex, accident related, problem that was only discovered after we went to repair the tie rods. that all being said, we should have been able to overcome these issues in a quicker, more expedient manner. Thanks for your patience with this.I am very sorry for the long delay and the inconvenience of being without this vehicle for such a long [redacted]e.I will check on the status with [redacted] D. on Monday and will make sure our promise of completion next week will be met. Thanks for your patience in this matter.
