KC Horse Transport, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: 10-11-2013 started negotiations and contracted KC Horse Transport Inc, to transport my horse from Lompoc Ca. to Miami Fl, they said was a 4 day trip, picked him up 10/30/13. Specifically, by written, asked for a stall and a half ($2060) email atched. Told the seller if I pulled out the horse from trip again (I had cancelled on time), I was willing to pay a fine. She upgraded without any written notice to a box ($3060) adducing I called her asking for that. I do not accept it. She has nothing in written.I do all in written. I agreed with her to pay $500.00 more,my horse was already in its way and I am no good at discussions. Since my credit card expired on 10/31/13 I asked to pass it on the 31, received a phone call that they had problems. I sent a wire transfer for $2560 Nov.1, to find out later that my credit card was charged with $3060.00 10/31/13. I sent email expressing my discontent and asking to just refund my credit card and deliver my horse to Miami as agreed. They sent a threatening email stating they would leave my horse in Kentucky and send me the information to haul him myself to Miami!I felt desperate! What they actually do was pulled my horse from their transport in Kentucky and changed hauler with out my written consent or knowledge. UNACCEPTABLE. When horse did not arrive on supposed date, I emailed them and was told another hauler was taking him and he was arriving 2 days later! Had to ask, they wouldn't bother to notify! THIS IS A BREECH OF CONTRACT, THEY DID NOT DELIVER MY HORSE AND WORSE: PUT HIM ON THE ROAD 2 MORE DAYS! First rule with horses: The welfare of the horse comes first. They also broke it. I find unacceptable, totally unprofessional, irresponsible and even prepotent to change haulers without my written consent and worse, adding 2 more days of travel time: 6 and not 4 as agreed. Horses get very stressed with hauling. They did not take in consideration they were dealing with a living creature and my recently bought Pan American Prospect 2015 to represent GuatemalaDesired Settlement: I state I never asked for a Box ($3060)have written proof. Due to the way they treated my horse and me, breeching the contract, extending the trip 2 days, not even notifying me of the change of hauler and 2 extra travel days, I want the $500 extra she is charging for a box I did not signed for. She can send the check to 214 Menlo Dr. Buellton Ca 93427 endorsed to me.

I am rejecting this response because: KC Transport is trying to avoid their responsibility of breeching the contract of delivering my horse to Miami as paid and signed, and what is worse, changing transporter in Kentucky without my knowledge or consent making the trip 2 days longer, 6 instead of 4 as promised! They are involving other matters I am not charging to them or complaining about. I did not mention my credit card problem, since I am not charging them with the discount they applied in my refund due to their bank´s fees nor my bank fees, which total near $250.00. I am being responsible for that amount since I did not check my credit card balance before asking for the wire information, which by the way was sent incomplete: without address of the bank nor name of the account! Bizarre for a professional hauler. I had to call asking for the former information. However, since they mention the situation: it was their accountant who called on the 1 of November saying there was a problem with my credit card, which I found logic, since it expired on Oct. 31 as they mention. Guatemala's Credit Card policy is you have to receive it personally and they would not mail the new one to the USA. Since I was coming back to Guatemala it did not matter. As of today I have my credit card expiring on 2016. I am charging them $500.00 dollars, quantity extra charged from the written request I made to them. In the mail I am saying I wanted my horse hauled in a stall and a half. It is important to point out they mention I hauled my horse myself, Big Lie. I did not. The chauffer of the truck loaded him and I went in to see how the van was inside and how horses travel. Dr. Carlos Maza was with me and he is an eye witness. His telephone is 805 688 7298 if you want to verify the former. It was the first time I contacted a Transporter my self. Truthfully, I did not know the difference between the two traveling spaces and I always had in my head he was traveling in a stall and a half. The space looked like a stall and a half size to me. The last time I imported a horse to Guatemala from the USA, my agent did all the work. I am sorry I did not use him as last time to take the trip from California to the door of my stall here in Guatemala. He is a recognized FEI Veterinarian, Guatemalan, and works with Thebas Farm in Miami Fl. His name is Dr. Ates Arevalo. Can check with Toni Alessandrini in Thebas Farm about him. I allow you to ask about my record with them. This is the second horse they will take for me to Guatemala, and God grants, a third one: a mare in June 2014 from DG BAR RANCH and definitely not with KC Transport. I allow you to ask Mr. Willy Arts from DG Bar Ranch about my record with him. And the reason I had to cancel the first shipment was out of my control. You can ask Mr. Willy Arts the reason of my doubts of hauling Amethyst if he wishes to disclose it is up to him. I delayed the transport a few day, and also took responsibility for it, saying IF I CANCELLED A SECOND TIME I WOULD PAY A FINE IF APPLIED, BUT NEVER MENTIONED A CHANGE OF TRANSPORT COSTS. I am a professional who works with budgets. And , I take responsibility of my mistakes, like the credit card situation. But the truth is that at some point, they had DOUBLE THE PAYMENT, the wire transfer and the credit card charge. I was very upset of the situation as you can imagine. Since I am not American and my communication in English can be a little difficult I do all by written. And for the record: I have been part of the Guatemalan Dressage Olympic Team for 16 years, and was sponsored by my Olympic Committee to ride with the very well recognized trainer and Olympic rider: Mrs. Charlotte Bredahl Baker for 10 months from March to November 2013. I allow you to inquire with her about her experience with me during the 10 months I spent receiving lessons three times a week, and the incredible positive report she sent to my Olympic Committee about my commitment, propriety and more, during all this time. I FEEL INSULTED TO BE CALLED A SCAMMER I am an ambassador for my country as a rider. KC TRANSPORT is just a company who thinks can do as they wish with other peoples horses and budgets. I an sending an enclosed resume of my sports career to support my credibility. If they would have hauled my horse as promised and not changed transporter in Kentucky without my consent or knowledge, I would have not made any complaint. It enraged me they took the liberty to change haulers and delayed my horses trip 2 extra days, 6 days on the road instead of the 4 promised, and repeat: without my knowledge nor permission. They sounded very arrogant in the mail sent to me after I asked about the delay of my horse´s trip. Never taking in consideration my concern about his health for the stress he was put through. I will ask my Dressage Federation here in Guatemala to proceed to put all this situation to the knowledge of the FEI, Dressage Chapter , mainly because KC TRANSPORT is calling me a scammer, and I am a very respect lady in the horse world of my region and in the business ambiance in my country as well. KC TRANSPORT need to respect more their clients, but most important: respect the horses WELL BEING AND GOOD HEALTH. I think they thought they could scam me for $500.00 and did not care about my horse! I am a true horse lover and hate when merchants try to take advantage of lack of experience of owners like my situation. Worse, putting the horses well being on the side. I ask again for a refund of $500.00 mainly because: 1. I did not requested the more expensive closed space as stated by written, and 2. They changed haulers in Kentucky dallying my horses trip for two days, making him travel 6 days instead of 4.

He is my dressage prospect for the Central American and Caribbean Games, Veracruz Mexico 2014 and Pan American Games 2015, even if not my prospect, he is my horse and I paid to KC TRANSPORT to take him to Florida they said in 4 days, and was taken by someone else in six days instead. Please inform if my sports curricula was not attached successfully.
