This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a contractor, ever!!! It started when we hired Kevin P***, owner of Kc Precision Contractors Inc, to do some minor touch up work in our sun roomThis included replacing some rotten wood here and there, installing two new screen doors on opposite sides of the room, replacing the old ripped screen around the entire sun room with a new sturdy screen that wouldn't rip or tear easily, and last of all, they were to re-paint the sun room's ceilings, floors, cabinets, and the indoor and outdoor side wall panelsSounds simple enough right? Or at least that's what we thoughtAfter they had claimed to be finished, my Fiance and I went outside to inspect their work, and we were horrified with what we foundThe new screens they installed were just as flimsy if not more than the old onesThere were even rips and tears in random spots across the whole sun room! On top of that, it seams they had installed the screens first, and then started to paint, which left big, ugly, and extremely noticeable paint drips and splatters all over the new screensThis was clearly not the work of professionalsThey also trapped leaves and twigs in the screen during the installation, which we thought was oddEverywhere I looked I could see blatantly obvious mistakes such as: Thick paint drips ready to peal and some already pealing off! The cabinet doors needed to be sanded down prior to the new paint job because of the layers and layers of old paint on them from beforeNot only did they not sand the cabinets at all, but they went ahead and painted them shut! All six of them! When we finally pried the cabinet open, I was appalled to say the leastThey obviously did not use any painters tape AT ALLIt looked as if a blind monkey was handed a paint brush full of grey paint, and went wildThe inside of our cabinets were filled with random streaks of the new grey paint overlapping the preexisting brown paintIt was atrocious! The floor boards were not painted correctly eitherYou can see thick paint filling in what are supposed to be small gaps between the boardsThey were not careful at allThey completely missed or ignored the hard to reach spots, and got paint on the spots they were to avoidAgain, this could have been avoided with painters tape, and maybe some skilled paintersNone of the paint lines were straight, and it looked AWFUL! The brand new screen doors they picked out, and installed were a completely different color than the paint so they looked weird to start off, but when I looked closer, I noticed dozens if not hundreds of scratches all up and down both doors! They also left on all of the stickers that come on a new door, and they opened and shut it so many times in the process, that they had become permanently stuck to the door, making it even uglier, which I didn't think was possibleTo top it all off, we thought we were hiring KC Precision Contractors, Incto complete this work for us, but it turns out, Kevin P***, Owner of KC Precision Contractors, Inc, had hired some random guy named Marlin to complete the job, who then ended up hiring another two random strangers who were admittedly untrained and inexperienced at this type of workWhen we hired KC Precision Contractors, Inc, we had no clue they would be hiring someone else to then hire cheap labor workersThe two random guys Marlin hired ended up completing the entire scope of work by themselves without Kevin or Marlin dropping by to check on their work, even once! We hired Kevin, not Marlin, or anyone elseThe last thing that really bothered us was the fact that they left the hose on in our backyard for who knows how long, which ended up flooding our next door neighbor's yard TWICE! They had to come over and ask us to please turn the water off, which was annoying for both them and usOur water bill that month was sky high!
This was meant to be a week long project at the most, and it has turned into a never ending nightmareDON'T LET THEM NEAR YOUR HOUSE OR WALLET!

I am rejecting this response because: First of all there was never a written agreement. I asked numerous times to see something in writing but that never materialized until I was told he would be filing a lien. I never signed any thing regarding this projectPlease show me a signed contract somewhere. It does not exist This was not about money and cutting corners. This was about someone who claims to have all of this experience and yet he was going to do a job that was totally inadequate and completely wrong For 1. He never for layed the dirt in with lifts.and just sort of worked what was there I had to have someone else bring additional fill in which should have been part of his so called estimate 3. This was a foundation for a building, he did not and was not going to put in piers to support the structure and it was surely going to fail. this was never about the money, this was about doing a proper job and I had numerous people with more "experience" look at what was being done and they told me it was wrong and would fail. There is no way that the work that was performed along with the materials came close to the $that I already paid him. He simply changed his so called bid to claim that he did $5,worth of work and materials and then claimed I owed him an additional $2,000.00. He has since filed a lien which I will gladly defend and fight untill the bitter end. I even offered to settle for half the amount, but he is to greedy and petty that he obviously needs the additional money and should put his energy into finding some new jobs

The claim that the homeowner is stating is incorrect. The project had engineered plans that the homeowner did not want to follow. He used his budget as his reasoning to cut corners. Concrete work has been a part of my business for the past ten years and I was willing to build the homeowner a slab to...

his liking, and within limits of standard engineering practices that I have from years of past experience. Throughout the process of the project, I went above and beyond accommodating the homeowner with the numerous change of plans and willingness to be flexible with the time delays in the schedule due to these changes. I was caught off guard when the homeowner admitted to me that he went behind my back, with both a written agreement and verbal agreement in place for me to complete this job, and hired a different contractor to finish the job. I was under the understanding that we were waiting on review from an engineer, when in all reality it was the homeowners plan to find someone cheaper and cut me out of the project. Keep in mind that all the materials needed for the job had already been purchased and on site at the job. Once I had realized the situation at hand, and once the homeowner knew that I was disappointed with the circumstances, the homeowner asked me to leave the materials in place for the new contractor to use and asked me to get him a remaining balance on the job. I presented the itemized invoice for the work that was completed and the homeowner refused to pay the remaining balance. At that point, I informed the homeowner that my only recourse would be to file a lien on the property until the past due balance was resolved. I gave the homeowner ample time to respond, and at the point that he decided he would not pay the balance, I turned the matter over to my attorney to let them settle the dispute. The chain of events stated above led to this point and I am truly disappointed that I did not follow my instinct to pass on the opportunity to be a part of this project, but despite my better judgement I gave the homeowner the benefit of the doubt thinking that he was an honest person.
