Id# *** 11/19/2015In response to *** ***'s complaint that we did not properly repair ortry and repair her ToyotaCamryI have drawn up a time line of events leading up to her receiving a NYSI sticker from our facility. The service and part departments of Warren Tire spent countless
hours, days and weeks to try and repairand eventually temporarily get the check engine light off, long enough so the vehicle could be drivenlegally for another year. The Check engine light wasfirst reported on the customer's invoice #*** dating 03/07/Note theNYSI was due in April of The vehicle then came in on 05/06/on invoice #*** withoutaNYSI stickerShe hadjust recently tried to get a safety and emissions sticker at another facility and it wasfailedWe failed the vehicle that day for emissions again, noting possible causes for the emissions light tocome on based on her stored codesAt that time she did not have us perform any diagnostics on hervehicle. On 05/13/2015, invoice #***; the vehicle came in for diagnosticsI had my most senior technician onthis vehicle and he determined, after smoke testing the evap system that parts were neededAn evapcharcoal canister, an air breather resonator and a vapor pressure sensor were ordered from ***TOYOTAThe charcoal canister was usedIt contained the air breather resonator on the charcoal canisterso that part was returnedThe vapor pressure sensordid not fit the vehicle properly so that was alsoreturned*** Toyota's parts department had said that the part we were looking for is discontinuedOurparts department spent hours looking online, through Toyota customer forumsWe had three differentpart stores in addition to our own *** franchise looking for the vapor pressure sensorMultiple partswere shipped to our locations, but all were sent back because they did not fit the vehicleThe part wasphysically brought to *** Toyota so that they can see the partWe went as far as sending a parts counteremployee to a junk yard to see if we could recover one there. On 05/18/2015, invoice #***; we had exhausted all efforts in finding the correct partWe cleaned thepart as best as we could and we drove the vehicle for the customer, monitoring the emissions monitors. The vehicle was put through the inspection computer when the monitors became ready and it received andNYSI sticker. The customer was never charged anything extra for the countless hours given to her by two partsspecialists with 15years' experience each and an ASE certified technician that has been in this facility foryearsAll documentation printed off our diagnostic programs and faxes of illustrations provided bythe Toyota dealership was given the *** ***, knowing full well as stated on her last invoice#***, dating 05/18/2015, that the light will most likely come on again unless the sensor is replaced.Lastly based upon the above facts reported and the countless hours spent, at no charge in assisting thecustomer to resolve her vehicles problem so it could pass the New York State Inspection, which we wereeventually able to accomplishWarren Tire working closely with *** Toyota, other vendors and mostimportantly the customer, we feel *** *** is not entitled to any refund from Warren Tire relating tothis claim

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,[redacted]
It is this simple, Warren Tire quoted a dollar amount to get the check engine light OFF.  The point of repeatedly stating  "countless hours for free" many times over in their response is mute.   A repair quote is supposed to be all-inclusive and not open-ended unless otherwise stated which this was not.  When I was called to pick up the car finally, the check engine light was on and they were going to make no further attempt.  In a nutshell, the light was still ON after I paid what they quoted me to get it OFF.
