I am rejecting this response because: I have tried and tried to communicate with KCPL that the American Legion is a nonprofit organization and we are not a commercial entity. Right now our monthly bills run from $to over $a month and have completely depleted our bank account. We have the furnace turned down to degrees and even had to shut off the breaker to keep from using electricity. We are a group of veterans who do not have any more money in our treasuryYes we have tried to communicate our plight with KCPL but they do not listen. Thank you for you help

We have received your request for response to [redacted] D [redacted]’s complaint regarding disconnection and reconnection of his service. A disconnect notice was mailed the day before his recent bill. It was mailed to the same address as his bills. If he didn’t receive the notice he will need to...

check with his post office. KCP&L has no control over what happens to bills and notices once they are mailed. A phone call attempt was made using the same phone number on his account, but no one answered and there was no way to leave a message. Mr. [redacted] stated he was sleeping when the tech arrived. KCP&L techs do make an attempt to contact the customer before disconnecting the service whether knocking on the door or ringing the bell. Listening to the phone calls Mr. [redacted] had with the CSR’s and supervisor does not indicate they were rude or snarky. Mr. [redacted] was upset he couldn’t get his service reconnected the same day. KCP&L doesn’t do same day orders and his reconnection was scheduled for the next day. was disconnected on 7/3/14 and final bill was mailed on 7/7/14. Past due notices were mailed on 7/31, 8/28, and 9/25 which stated final payment is needed to avoid further collection activity. The account has been paid in full as of 10/14/14.

and regarding his high bill and was changed to the rate MO931. This is the better rate for him. Once a customer changes to a new rate, they must be on that rate for one year. He is only billed for usage used.
