I asked for a full set of gel nails and a deluxe pedicure. The sign on the wall said $40 for the white/pink gel (which IS what I received). The pedicure was priced at $35. While finishing the nails, I inquired about the price of a facial. She CLEARLY said $20, (it was NOT listed on the price board) and so I said that I would like to have one. To me, that was a day at the salon, under $100... $95 to be exact. Nevermind that the entire facial lasted 10 mins, or the inferior quality of both the pedicure (supposedly deluxe) and the shoddy looking manicure... when I was done and asked her the total (again, in my head should have been $95) she quoted me $125. I barely had enough, but the shop was full of other customers, I paid and pulled out of the parking lot. I then started trying to figure out HOW it came to that, so I called back and she commenced to telling me that the gel nails were $50 (NEVER did she tell me it was more than the price on the wall). The pedicure was $35 (and WELL below the quality of other shops). Then she said the facial was $40 and I said you told me $20 or else I wouldn't have got it. She told me I misheard her because of her broken English! She spoke CLEAR ENGLISH and there's a big difference in the sound of TWENTY and FORTY. She simply conned me and this is common nail salon con when dealing with non American owners. I would have NEVER paid $40 for a 10 min facial.. I wouldn't have paid $20 had I known what a rip-off it was. The facial included no masks or pore cleaning. The DELUXE pedicure was no more than a regular pedicure.. no leg or feet massage, no leg mask, etc. And, the manicure is awful. I have long fingers and long nail beds, and when she was finished I look like I have short, stubby fingers. I've taken pics to document that. I was in the salon for 1 hour and 30 mins, for 3 services! (That's documented by the time I clocked out from work, til the time I called them back.) It should have taken close to 3 hours for all services.
