Keefe's Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: Keefe's installed a 3.5 ton a/c unit to my 1216 sq ft townhouse. They failed to perform a required calculation on the square footage of my home. This was my first time replacing a a/c unit. I had a Goodman 3 ton unit prior. My townhouse requires a 2.5 ton unit. I have been suffering from bronchitis and allergies since the system was put in as of June 30, 2014. My a/c does not run long enough to get the humidity out of my home. I have informed the tech Thai with Keefe's several times that the new a/c in my home did not feel right. I questioned why my tile floor sometimes feels wet. My refrigerator started rusting, my laminated flooring has some bubbles starting, some of my wooden furniture has bubbles, my plasma tv went out (only 3 years old) and my tile flooring have been wet. I had another tech with Keefe's come out April 22. I have requested them not to put refrigerant to solve the problems. James, the tech, put more without my knowledge. The work order he submitted was incorrect of what took place in my home. I had my mother as a witness to what was discussed. I went to an allergist to be tested. The doctor informed me that it was dust mites causing my allergies, and humidity can cause my bronchitis. She is willing to write a letter confirming this. Keefe's just records what they want to record on their work orders. They do not seem to care what I have to say. I informed James of all of the issues I have been having, but he wrote nothing down. What he wrote down was not entirely true. He just C.Y.A. They keep on telling me everything is fine. He put my attic fan on 90 and dropped my a/c to 62 degrees so the unit would run long enough. They keep on blaming my attic door for the problems. I put a latch on the attic door as they requested. My attic door did not change for over 12 years. I did not have any humidity issues with my first ac unit. It is not the roof. I had it replace in Sept of last year. The problems started b/f the roof. James was informed.I need to correct something in my statement. The attic unit is a 3.5 ton unit and the outside unit is a 3 ton unit. Keefe's installed a mismatch system. I was recently informed that you have to give up some control over the humidity levels in your home when installing a mismatch system. Lennox Corp was contacted concerning the problem. They have requested that I contact another Lennox dealer in my area. The 2nd A/C dealer discovered that the machine outside was not working. The compressor was not coming on,. The air coming out of the unit was cold. The compressor sometimes works, and sometimes it is just making a clicking noise. The Keefe's tech, that came out a week ago, stayed over 3 hours and could not find nothing wrong with the unit. He just dismissed what I had to say and the problem by blaming all issues on the attic door, my new dehumidifier and roof . I have already been informed that I might have to replace the attic unit. The new A/C company cannot inform why the compressor is not working properly at this time. I did inform the Keefe's tech, Thai, last June during my routine maintenance check that I dislike the A/C system. That the system was horrible compared to my last A/C. The air did not feel right. The unit kept on turning on and off . I questioned why my floors and grout look and feel wet sometimes. He informed that the attic door was causing the issues. I did not have this problem for over 13 years with the same attic door with the old A/C. What changed?Lennox Corp will assign a local Lennox rep to investigate. I have 4 doctor receipts showing I had, and currently have, bronchitis that started back in Oct 2014. I also have a receipt showing that I am allergic to dust mite. I have been breaking out with red spots all over my face, neck and arms. The only thing that has changed is the A/C.I would like to request not to have my complaint posted to the public at this time.May 4 Update: I had another dealer fix the compressor in the amount of 415.00 May 2nd. This is a temporary solution for now. Both the attic and outside unit will need to be replaced due to the coils being the wrong size. The coils in the attic are too big for the outside unit. It is for a 3.5 ton unit. This has been causing the high humidity problems in my home since the beginning. The attic door and roof are not the problem like Keefe's has informed. My refrigerator, TV, laminated & tile floors have been damage to the humidity levels in my home. I am also having health problems. The new dealer reported my humidity level at 75% in my home yesterday. I have to put the A/C down too 68 degrees with a dehumidifier to get the humidity level down to 55%. I also have receipts for the dehumidifier and monitor. The new dealer informs that it is not the attic door or roof causing the problem. It is the mismatch unit causing all the problems.Keefe's also took down a supporting board in my attic in order to install the unit back in 2014. They failed to put the board back. I questioned why the board was not put back in place since it appeared to be a supporting board. The Keefe's tech Thai informed that the board being removed was not necessary for supporting my attic roof. A roofer came out today and informed that it was a supporting board. That removing any of the boards can cause damage to my roof during a hurricane or high wind storm. I took a picture of the board that was removed by Keefe's.I expect to be reimburse for all cost since Keefe's had been informed that there were issues at the beginning, June 2015 and April 22nd. I informed the tech when they came out to my home. Keefe's failed to record any issues I was having. My wet floors were informed back in June of last year. The attic door was blamed for all the problems. I installed high density rubber foam back in June 2015 and a latch this year. I have receipts.Kathleen Kuehne Desired Settlement: To correct the mistake they have made.
