Keeper Security Reviews (%countItem)

The product was fine, but I did not appreciate the business tactics. On Oct 17th I received an email that stated, "Dear Keeper Customer,
Your Keeper account is expiring within 30 days. Please renew now. If you do not renew, your account will expire and you will lose access to essential Keeper Unlimited features"
With no action on my part on Oct 22, my account was charged $29.99. When I spoke to the company they stated that I was enrolled in automatic renewal as part of its terms and services. When I asked, why did I receive an email specifying I had 30 days, and if I specifically did not renew my account, it would expire?". The rep stated that the business typically charges in advance of the renewal and the email was sent as an option to manually renew.
To me, if I get an email from a company, I interpret that to be the most recent information regarding the terms and services. And if that email is contrary to the policy that is actually in place then I would absolutely deem that deceptive business practices.

Hi Johnathon, we apologize for the inconvenience caused and will share your feedback with our product team for further review. We will resolve the issue for you today.

Was sold on a product that does not function the way that was explained to me. Called support to get clarification on why solution wasn't functioning the way it was supposed to and was told that I needed to purchase additional solution to get support. I asked to cancel my solution and issue a refund, was called by sales associate to address my issues and was not given any solutions to my issues, only excuses. Was told that they will not issue refund due to policy even though I was not able to use the software as intended.

I purchased their product for two years and not satisfied, and I am requesting a refund. They are refusing to give me a refund, yet they cancel my membership with my request. I was hoping for a refund, if not for the two years I paid for, but for one year.

Our system shows that the user purchased Keeper Unlimited at $29.99 via *** Store in November 2017. She reached out to use on Mar 28, 2018 to ask for a refund. Because payments made through ***, the *** Store (for iOS devices), or the *** Store (for *** OS X devices) are processed by ***le, we cannot refund the user directly if he/she upgraded to Premium. They are not processed by our service, and we only receive the payment confirmation from ***le. We care about creating the best experience for our customers. As a courtesy, we're h***y to send $29.99 to the user's *** account. After that, the user must login to her ***le ID to cancel the recurring subscription to avoid future billing issues. https://support.***le.com/en-us/***Note: I called this user this morning and left a voicemail and she can call me back at 312-***-***.Best

Keeper is an smart phone/web based app that allows for
storage of passwords. I've had the app for a few years
(approximately 2-3). It was free when I downloaded, and
required no monthly/subscription cost (though they did add
an optional cloud back-up service about a year ago for an
annual fee). On 3/27/18 I tried to access my passwords
(which are critical information and this site is the only place
they are stored), and I was refused access unless I paid them
a new $29.99 annual service fee. I was never notified of this
new cost that would be imposed on me and/or given the
chance to make alternate arrangements with my
account/passwords. Given no notice was made to allow provisions to avoid this fee this is extortion.

Hi Stephen,We are very sorry to hear about your experience. We care about creating the best experience for our customers. Keeper password manager has both a free version and a paid version. The free version only works on one device with local storage only. Paid customers can contact [email protected] to downgrade to the free version at any time. Per your request, we have already canceled your Keeper accounts and helped you export your data. If you still need further assistance, please feel free to contact [email protected].

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

These are advertisements with basis of sales pitch to note that back-up capabilities would be lost if back-up membership not renewed. Any notification about locking out service is vague, and misleading.

Also, the company has maintained that it offers free tiered service so there should never be a point where access is locked/restricted.

Sincerely,

Stephen

Keeper Security Response • Apr 02, 2018

We're sorry that the user is upset. Please note that we have already helped the user to export his data and canceled his account per his request. Keeper Password Manger offers both a free and a paid version. If the user's paid account is expired, he will need to renew to regain access or contact [email protected] to downgrade the account to the free version. The free version of Keeper will only work on one device. As the data is stored locally on one devcies, the information will not transfer if the same device is lost, stolen or damaged.
