Grantnewhomes created contract that wife and I signed, but they failed to deliverWe agreed to purchase new home, signed contract stating agreed sales price, lot, all details through [redacted] One business day later, they said needed to raise price 4000, I said no to stay with price already agreed to, then I called back Thursday to find out they refuse to sell me the lot, which they showed me, they put in contract......I told them to forget it and give me my 10,000 dollar check back but they are stalling and won\'t let me come get my check back. Desired SettlementI want my 10k check back and the 100 earnest money back....Business Response When we decided not to accept Mr. [redacted]\'s contract, he requested that his earnest money be refunded on 4/3/14. We called him to tell him that we would have his check available to pick up on 4/4/14 at our main office. His wife picked up the check on 4/9/14.

defective roof, had to replace at my own expense after 6 years, flooring coming up in every room and a mold problem.defective building materials. [redacted] told me the company and manufacture for flooring and roofing materials had gone out of business that Grant Homes would not honor warranty. the house is 7 years old. I started first contacting Grant Homes, [redacted] 4 years ago. they refuse to replace or repair any of the defective items.Desired Settlementreimburse me for replacing the roof and fix or replace the floors.Business Response [redacted] purchased a home from Keith and David Grant homes LLC on 12/19/2006. Per the signed sales contract dated 7/25/2006, both parties agreed to a 1 year registered builder new home warranty. Therefore the warranty period expired on her home on 12/19/2007. Repairs beyond the agreed upon date is the responsibility of the owner.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)What the contract says and what I was told by Sales Repersentative is totally different. The sales rep said the roof had a 30 year warranty and the hardwood floors had a lifetime warranty. I had 3 different roofing companies to tell me the shingles were defective when Grant put them on and the hardwood wasn't properly laid. Before closing on the final walk through with a Grant employee, [redacted], I asked him why the flooring was separating and he said they were like that so they could contract and expand during hot and cold weather. When I talked to [redacted] about these issues, his reply was " well, the roofing company that made the shingles is out of business, this particular flooring is no longer made and the two people from his company are no longer employees". I am a senior citizen and feel like Grant Homes took advantage of my lack of knowledge on home building and buying. I have also told them of a serious mold problem that was never addressed by grant. Photos are attached of the floors in 2 bedrooms and the kitchen. Also, outside where the bay window was not sealed correctly. A receipt for total roof replacement is also attached.Final Business Response As contained in our previous response dated 3/11/2015 to the complaint, [redacted] and Keith and David Grant Homes LLC mutually agreed to a 1 year registered builder warranty that began 12/19/2006 and ended 12/19/2007.
