Keith Barker Roofing and Solar Reviews (5)

Revdex.com:Thanks to Keith Barker Roofing for the thorough explanation of the damage found by their inspectors; that is more than I got from the sales officeHowever neither of the two inspections address the damaged rain cap that I need to repair to satisfy my insurance provider.I accept Keith Barker Roofing’s statement that as a consumer, I should not be billed for an inspection.I accept that I don’t know anything about roofingThat is why I get competing opinions from professionals for this type of work.I accept that there was miscommunication and that my inability to meet the inspectors personally contributed to the misunderstanding.I do not accept the implication that I don’t understand the difference between a quote and an invoice. The first inspection produced a quote, with line items describing the work proposed, how much it would cost, payment terms including 60% up front and 40% on completion, and a signature line for me to accept the terms. The second inspection produced a verbal response outlining the work described in the pictures provided by Keith Barker RoofingWhen queried about the pictures I had sent and the rain cap damage I had described I was told by the salesperson “That doesn’t need to be fixed.” After giving the company two chances, in frustration, I told them I would have to get a quote from another rooferI later received a phone message not asking, but telling me I needed to call backThe message was followed by an email later that day, with the message “Please call office to set up this payment, Thanks" and containing an attachment with the following contents;“ Ref: Repair Bid $ 150.00 _____ InitialNote: Due to the current volatile pricing of roofing products, price good through end of current monthReturned signed bid and deposit can hold pricePrice good for standard Weathered Wood Color shingles only, any other color will be at extra costInspection FeePayment Term: 100% Due Terms of payment: Due upon receipt of invoicePast due accounts are subject to 18% annual finance charge, attorney fees, and court cost added for collectionThe parties agree that any action related to this Agreement will be brought and maintained only in Travis County.”That is a bill.I believe this invoice was issued by the sales staff in retribution, designed to intimidate, extract payment, cost time and money to fight collection, and be the basis for further action against me or my property. Thanks to Keith Barker Roofing for the generous offer of repair work at no chargeThat is not necessaryI will do that work on a time and budget which suits me.Now that our dispute has been documented through a third party, with the caveat that the invoice is withdrawn and no further action is pursued against me or my property, I accept this resolution.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:It doesn't make sense to accept or reject the business response, but Revdex.com site requires a response and these are the only two optionsSince it's not clear that
accepting the response won't cancel the complaint, I am rejecting pending further response from the business

I will pull info to see what happened and respond this weekend or Monday

For the confusion on item inspected I apologize , [redacted] is new to the position . When she typed cap is loose on work order and service truck thought it meant fireplace cap. Now the cap is loose and has a gap at top(we will forward pictures with this response) . Also when we look at an item for a customer we inspect the roof for other items we see.  Kickouts are a term used in roofing and are part of the NRCA roofing code( copy of reference attach3ed with picture). Also attaching picture of black stain on the brick wall , kick out flashing in these areas help prevent excess water from running on wall and staining. On the inspection fee [redacted] handles warranty for builders and when they call in for an inspection we do charge them, but consumers we do not. We do not have a bill in system , the repair request is what [redacted] uses to request a purchase order from our new construction clients.  Both parties no the difference between consumers and new construction clients . But the items recommended are needed and for the miscommunication I would happy to do the items and no charge on list sent on 10/30/14 at no charge .The items would be secure fireplace cap, secure lose counter flashing on fireplace and install kickout flashing

I'm sorry for the problem you are having , I'm out of town but will have info pulled up on job and give u a call Monday evening or Teus morning if that is okay
