Keith & David Grant Homes Reviews (1)

My house has excessively large cracks, and the wall has lifted up from the floor. My roof leaks due to a builder defect. My husband and I purchased our home in November 2009. The builder warranty was only for one year, and of course in that time there were no problems. We started noticicing small cracks around doorways shortly thereafter, but realized that this is normal. However, after 4 years in the home, the cracks have spread and are VERY DEEP! At the same doorway of the largest crack, the wall has separated from the floor to the extent that I can SEE the concrete foundation. It has lifted so much that I can now stick my hand between the wall and the floor. Additionally, the louvre on the roof leaks. It was suggested to me by [redacted] himself that because my louvre faces west, it is normal when a hard rain comes from that direction to get rain inside the attic. I asked him why then would they build a home where the louvre faces west? I have a very large stain in my ceiling now. There is no structural damage to the roof, but this is an ongoing issue whenever it rains very hard. It is my STRONG belief that my home is a lemon. Desired SettlementI want the problems repaired at no cost. Business Response Keith and David Grant Homes LLC(Builder) sold a home to [redacted] and [redacted] on October 22, 2009. The Builder and the Williams mutually agreed to a 1 year New Home Limited Warranty within the New Home Sales Contract Dated September 17, 2009. During the Warranty period from October 22, 2009 until October 22, 2010, the [redacted] did not request repairs relating to any of the items listed in the Revdex.com complaint, therefore, items that currently may need to be addressed are not covered by the mutually agreed upon warranty. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do agree that I agreed to a new home limited warranty that expired in October of 2010. However, I do not think ANYONE would expect a brand new home to start falling apart in less than 5 years! Could it be that their warranties are only for a year because they know that the homes are poorly built? The structural damage to my house is EXTENSIVE. Final Business Response Please see previous response from the Builder dated 11/19/2013. In the home buyer's response, they agree that we mutually agreed to the new home warranty expiring October of 2010.
