It is true that we had an issue with the kitchen floor. Originally we installed a product called [redacted] as an underlayment for the ceramic tile but this did fail, due in part because of deflection in the kitchen floor framing. We removed the kitchen floor tile, addressed the floor framing...

issue at no additional charge, installed [redacted] and installed the new kitchen tile floor. The delay to install the new tile floor was the time it took to order the replacement tile as it was no longer available as a stock item at our local supplier.  The discoloration that Mrs. [redacted] is describing was due to the light darkening the areas of the floor not protected.  I explained to her that after the floor protection is entirely removed the lighter sections will darken to the same color as the unprotected areas.  She was unwilling to wait so I removed the areas of concern and made a field repair at no charge.  In regards to the wood flooring splitting and buckling I took moisture readings in this area and my equipment indicated that the floor was wet. This is also the area that a dog kennel had been placed so the high moister could be from water from a water bowl or urine being trapped under the kennel. When I told her of my findings she told me she had just got done mopping the floor.  That’s when I said let’s call in my flooring vendor and get their opinion.  [redacted] called and set an appointment up with her but she had to cancel. [redacted] has been trying for months to reschedule but Mrs. [redacted] has not responded to there calls. We installed new kitchen cabinets ([redacted] Spring Valley Maple) the cabinet she chose for the project. The painter did pull a small piece of finish off from the side of the wall cabinet located to the left of the sink.  I gave her a choice to cover the end of the cabinet with an end panel or to use a scribe mold to cover the damaged area.  She decided to have us install the scribble mold as this would also cover a small space between the back of the cabinet and the existing uneven wall. The scribe mold that we used came from the cabinet manufacturer and is designed for such and application.  At no point did Mrs. [redacted] show her dissatisfaction towards installing the scribe to the side of the cabinet. Mrs. [redacted] has also stated that she is being harassed for payment.  For many months I have been working with Mrs. [redacted] to resolve what she considers workmanship issue when in fact we have gone above and beyond in an attempt to satisfy her.  I have replaced over 120 square feet of flooring in her living room that she said we damaged when in fact it was scratched by her dogs nails. I replaced wood flooring in front of the living room sliding door that was damaged by a tread mill that we only moved at the time of the installation. I replaced additional wood flooring in the living room because of normal color variances that would eventually blend in. We replaced wet urine soaked flooring from her office because she complained of discoloration. She has indicated for months that she was talking with her mortgage company in an attempt to get the final inspection so that the money would be released.  At no time during our face to face conversations did she say that she was dissatisfied with our work and was unwilling to pay the balance due. Per her signed completion certificate we fulfilled our contractual agreement and we should be paid in full. She has also made no attempt to take care of the personal balance due us that she has noted in this complaint.
