Was told cost of product before order was 1/3 less than actual price. That was unacceptable business practice. Will not use this company any longer.We had used [redacted]'s for several years but were amazed at this last visit when we asked what a new motor would cost. We were told $60-160. When his son stated that he needed to order the product for that price, we accepted. The motor was replaced without concern. However, we were sent a bill for over THREE times that for JUST the motor itself without contacting us to ask us if $450 was ok for a motor. When [redacted] gave us the product number, we found the motor was around $160 online. When we called him on it, [redacted] reported that he didn't shop online. He was willing for us to pay THREE TIMES the amount for the product just because he was not willing to shop other places. We were able to get the part within 3 days and install the motor on our own. We were VERY disappointed in [redacted]'s Heating and Air despite loyalty for several years. We will not be using them again and will be reporting on multiple sites including Revdex.com. I felt we were taken advantage of because I was a female and a working professional and didn't have the means or expertise to know better.Desired SettlementWe tried to get [redacted] to cover the cost of the difference of the part but he refused stating that he did not use the internet for parts. He charged us 2 hours to replace a part that took us less than 20 minutes to fix. I also asked for general yearly maintenance for both A/C for the house. This never occurred.Business Response The price was estimated accidentally because thats the price of the typical motor. The customers unit required a special motor that was higher in price. The employee has since been advised to check all parts prices before estimate to insure no further problems such as this. Our intention is never to upset our customer and are truly sorry for the misunderstanding. We explained that we do not shop around online. We use the same parts vendors that we have used for many years. I understand that the customer can shop online and maybe find needed parts cheaper and thats awesome if they can do the labor themselves. This had nothing to do with the gender of the customer and we find that accusation very disturbing! Our company charges every customer the same service fee. If we shopped around online and charged exactly what we paid and didnt charge labor cost it only makes since that we would be working for free. Our company went back and picked up the motor and didnt charge the customer for it. Customer was only charged for initial service call to diagnose problem. We wish only the best for the customer and are very sorry that they were not willing to accept our mistake without problem. Thank You.
