Keller Tire & Auto, L L C Reviews (2)

Review: I am a 19 year old college student. I live at home, and have two jobs. I am paying for school out of pocket this year and working on paying back student loans from last year. Recently my hand-me-down car started acting up and is now on the verge of dying completely. My parents and I started looking for a new-used car for me that was priced around $2500. That money was supposed to pay off my loans, but life happens. So I test drove several vehicles and found one that I liked and could afford. It was a 1995 Toyota Camry from a small dealership in North Fond du Lac. I test drove the vehicle twice, the first time my father drove it to make sure everything checked out. The second time my boyfriend drove it and did the same since he worked at a dealership and was trained to identify the basics with used cars. They both agreed that it was a sound vehicle, the only thing we could find wrong was the stereo was not working. I didn't have a problem with this because I had one from my previous vehicle that I could replace the faulty one with. Today my mother and I went in to purchase the vehicle. Everything went smoothly, we made the deal and we were on our way. I took the car to the gas station and filled it up because the gas light was on, then I took it on the highway to Oshkosh to go meet some family. It was driving fine as far as I could tell, when I put the cruise control on the engine sounded strained so I got a little nervous and took it off. It sounded fine once I took the cruise control off and I exited the highway. While waiting at a red light the car was idling and it just shut off. I was able to get it started right away again, and I pulled off into the parking lot at the Outlet Mall into a parking space where it once again shut off. I put the car in park and went to meet my family and explained what happened. I drove it again to the Spanbauer Center in Oshkosh so that my boyfriend could take a look at it. They checked the oil and ruled that out. He and one of his classmates thought that maybe it could be a problem with the battery or one of the sparkplugs. He drove it back to the dealership and I followed with his vehicle. Nothing seemed to be wrong other than some shaking while he idled at lights or stop signs, and then right as he pulled into the dealership it died again. When I called in to talk to the man who sold me the car I explained the situation and he told me that that was strange. He told me that they would have to look at it and I asked if I could return it and get my money back. He told me that, "It didn't work that way." I mentioned the Lemon Law and he said that that didn't apply to used cars. I told him that my parents would contact him. We took the car into the dealership where they told us that when they purchased the car and drove it from Green Bay that it didn't show any of the problems I had been experiencing today. They are taking a look at it right now and will call us back.Desired Settlement: When buying a vehicle you expect it to run, especially when they have to fill out a full-service checklist. Everything was supposedly okay minus the broken stereo and a cracked mirror. I was even given a copy of the checklist. I bought the car in cash and I would like a full refund. I bought the car and the gas tank was completely empty, so I filled it up and I would like my $54.50 back also.
