Review: On August 2nd my finace and I had a signed sales agreement with an associate of this office branch and handed her a handmoney check in the amount of $1000 with all of my fiances personal information on it. As a law that check needed to be cashed and put into an escrow account within 24-48 hours. The deal fell thru on August 9th. The check still was NOT cashed even at that point. With the deal falling thru we requested our check back. I contacted the associate's broker for the office, I wanted to know why it was not cashed and why aren't we getting it back. She had to "look into it"and that she recommends that we put a stop payment on the check and she would pay those costs. My fiance was unsure exactly of which number it was so we contacted the office to find out and they advised us that they lost her check. The check with her name, address and account numbers on it, they lost. I have left her three messages since then requesting a phone call back. In the meantime my fiance waited for the other checks to clear in order to track down which check to cancel. I left her a message last week advising the fees etc and to call me and she has not. I left her yet another message this morning. This is horrible business practice. I have contacted the PA real estate commission on this matter as well.Desired Settlement: I would like the Broker to call me back. Someone needs to be held responsible for this. This is crazy that a real estate company loses a handmoney check and does not follow up with the person. I would like the stop payment fee paid as she stated she would. This has caused so much stress and migraines in our lives not knowing where this check is because of their lack of professionalism. At this point I'm ready to contact an attorney as I feel our entitlement is more at this point.
