We agree with most of the timeline about this projectUnfortunately in June, ***'s inquiries were not addressed in a timely wayThe engineers report got to us late as it went to an unused email boxBut, between the time of the customer's
submitting this complaint and our receiving it, we did receive the engineer's report and did submit it to the customerThe report is attachedThe engineer's credentials can be found here: ***
He is a civil engineer and involved with various concrete companies and institutions
The report says that all of our work is well within industry standardsThere are a few cracks but those "issues are common and well within what can be expected with concrete construction." He did suggest that the crack in the sidewalk be caulked and offered a product recommendation for that
We will gladly comply with his recommendation to caulk the cracks and will go one further by offering to replace the sidewalk section between the sawcut at the base of the step all the to the drivewayThis is because we do regret that the sidewalk was not originally done with tooled joints which caused the crack

We do not accept thisThe agreement written to us Sept 11th is to replace the steps and walkway, not part of itReplacing part of the walkway does not address the issue with the steps and the area of the walkway that is breaking looseThese areas were missing from the engineer reportIf Kelly's Concrete is no longer willing to honor the written agreement from Sept 11th to tear out & replace, we would like a full refund for the steps and walkway

Since this time, Josh *** - the engineer, did go out again to the house and met with the ***sHe reviewed all the areas of concern even what the ***s felt may have been missed*** decision remains the sameHe stands by his original evaluationEverything is within industry standards or betterHe does work with AVR AND he also is called in as an expert for many companiesWe trust his judgementWe will still replace the section as stated in our previous responseBut we will not refund any monies for the step and walkway
