Hello,Thank you for informing our practice of this complaintI am DrG***' wife and the office manager with degrees in Finance and AccountingWe have a signed financial agreement by Ms*** which states that any remaining balance (after insurance has processed the claim and charges) may be
placed on the patients debit or credit card left on file Ms*** initialed specifically in our agreement where this is stated We do not try and hide this policy in our agreement; rather, we ask the patient to agree and initial so that there are no surprises Furthermore, Ms*** was given a copy of the signed financial agreement and a detailed statement which shows her ledger detail I have a copy of an email that was sent on July 28th in which she was provided this documentation After we provided her with the documentation, she demanded that we not email her anymore; although it was perfectly acceptable for her to continue to har*** and email our officeThe total charges for Ms***'s consultation and xray were $ Her insurance company *** denied the claim and did not remit payment because they stated that she had met her frequency limitations for consultations and xrays for the year Consequently, the remaining balance of $was her responsibility The financial agreement explains in great detail that any remaining balance, not covered by insurance, will be the patient's responsibility I have many emails in which I have explained these facts and offered documentation to her I will have to consult our attorney to see if we may provide you with a copy of the financial agreement since there are limitations to what we may share according to HIPPA DrG*** has been in practice for over years and dentists from all over the valley refer patients to him because he has a reputation for his impeccable honesty and competency as a surgeonThank you for your time. I do not accept this responseI still disagree that this was an authorized charge on my account but am not going to continue to pursue the materThey have their money and I have learned my lesson as to not give my business to a facility who upon first impression, was incredibly dirty and now has been proven to be dishonestI will not go back to this facility and will make sure that anyone else that I come into contact with is aware of the shady way they do business and their unethical business practicesAs an employee of one of the largest healthcare companies in the state, I am very disappointed with how this complaint was handled and the time it took to get a responseI would never support a facility that treats their patients in this wayI will not be returning and will make sure my referring dentist is aware of the unethical patient care that I received
