Review: We signed a contract with [redacted] for the sum of 14,000 for renovation to our apartment. Work began on June [redacted]. A deposit of $4,000 has been given initially. Work lasted for a week during which [redacted] has asked me multiple times for various payments from the total sum in contract. The payment during the first week allotted to $11,350. During that first week, plywood was placed, partial tiles in the bathroom were placed and one coat of paint was done in the apartment which was only 20% of the work that [redacted] was contracted to finish even though he has received 80% of the payment. After the first week, work has stopped and [redacted] said that he was waiting on particular nails to become available in order to place the parquet flooring on the plywood. I asked a family friend who does flooring for a living who said that those nails are available easily at most location and were not on any special delay. The following week, [redacted] became impossible to get a hold of and would not pick up his phone unless called from a different number. His excuse for not calling back his client was that he was always upstate with poor reception. Multiple voicemails were left on his phone. Once I got a hold of [redacted] that Sunday he promised a worker to be sent to our apartment that Monday. We arrived at the apartment only to find that no one was sent to do the job. After various more attempts I was able to get a hold of [redacted] once more from a different number. He said that the worker was sick. This again turned into another week delay and more attempts for [redacted] to send other workers for some work to be done around the apartment. After the end of the week [redacted] promised once more that work will begin at the start of the next week. Come monday no one showed and [redacted] stated that after his employees left the door unlocked his instruments were stolen. Three weeks of no work after collecting $11,350. I had another contractor come in who stated even the work done was done wrong. The plywood was placed completely wrong without our consent.Desired Settlement: [redacted] has caused a lot of problems for us to move in. He was not available, didn't assist with purchasing items for required for the renovation as promised, evaded phone calls, caused much stress in the way he spoke with me, his client who hired him. He decided to do a fast con job after receiving money. He bought cheap materials, and only finished 25% of the job. Multiple times he threatened to just stop work and told us to find a more suitable contractor for the job. We want a refund for 7,000

Review: We signed a contract with the contractor for the sum of 7,500 for renovation to our apartment in August. Gave $500 deposit. Work began on October **, 2014. Contractor asked for $ 2500 which was given to him. He brought guys and they started working. They worked for 3 days. After 3 days of work contractor asked for another $1500 for sheetrock which was giving to him. After that he never showed up. Tried calling him several times, he was avoiding my phone calls. Only after I called from a different phone number he picked up the phone and said he will bring guys back, but he never did. He did only 20% of the work.Desired Settlement: We lived in un-inhabitable apartment for 2 weeks, causing us to have to hire someone else to complete the job. We would like for Revdex.com to help locate this contractor and have him reimburse us for the full amount.
