Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/07) */
Ms. [redacted] is on a 3 month [redacted] regimen due to her[redacted]. When she had[redacted] maintenance in September of 2014, it was her third [redacted] in 2014. Because her plan pays only two [redacted]s in a calendar year, her exam...

and[redacted] maintenance [redacted] were not paid by her insurance. We always explain, prior to any treatment, what the estimated copay will be. She clearly understood that her exam and[redacted] would not be paid by her insurance. In addition, she had several sites of [redacted] ([redacted]) placed to target the[redacted] problems. Her balance at that time was $351.00.
We had sent her four statements by January 2015: in October, November, December of 2014, and January of 2015. Our office also left a few voice mail messages to follow up. She never called us back to say that she was having financial problems. If she had told us that she was having difficulties, we would have been totally understanding with the delayed payment.
When she called in February, 2015, for an appointment for[redacted], we complied despite her past due account. She assured us that she would clear her balance when she came in, but that didn't happened. She was also leaving for multi-city European vacation. So, we asked her if her family members (mom and grandmother?), who were with her that day, could help her clear her balance before leaving for Europe, and reimbursed them when she returns from the vacation. She said no, and that was that. She said that she would call us before leaving for Europe, but she never did. Unknown to us at that time, this infuriated her. Since her visit in February 2015, she has been posting all over the internet how bad we were. We only learned about her personal/financial predicaments she is stating, from various internet postings. She never explained to us why she didn't respond to our statements and voice mails. She finally paid $351.00 on April 23, 2015, 7 months past due. After 90 days of grace[redacted]d, our accounting system automatically assesses finance charges, causing her interest payment to be $14.49.
Her accusation that we didn't inform her what her financial responsibility would be is completely false. We always clearly communicate with our patients, before any treatment, all the clinical aspects of the treatment as well as the financial aspects. Also, her accusation that we are harassing her couldn't be more untrue. To the contrary, she has been harassing us with numerous internet postings. This is quite disappointing as we pride ourselves in fantastic patient care and services. She is using the internet posting as her weapon to destroy us.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/06/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Exposing my [redacted] health [redacted] to the Revdex.com is a violation of HIPPA as Revdex.com is not involved in my health care. I will be reporting this office for violating HIPPA.
#2) September 2014 was my 3rd [redacted]. I have and have always had double dental insurance since receiving services from Dr. [redacted] so All of my dental [redacted]s have been covered in the past. Recently, my 2nd insurance switched over to Delta and the receptionist FAILED to call the insurance to verify coverage and DID NOT inform me of charges that were going to be incurred. She never said I was responsible to pay anything in advance and furthermore, at the end of the visit, when I asked her what my balance was at the end of the visit, she said she was going to bill my insurance first. During all previous visits when ([redacted]) was administered, it was charged and I paid for it at the point of service. I never had outstanding balance in the past. Instead, they sent me a bill at the end of October this time around. Unfortunately, I sustained an injury at work 11/07/14 and was unable to pay the bill right away since I was out without pay and told them I would pay them as soon as possible or at my next visit 2/14. 11/19/14 my grandmother from whom the office staff demanded me to take money that she does not have to pay them sustained a Massive stroke that left her with [redacted] on the right side and dependent of all her care. She was in a wheelchair in their office with me and they saw her in that [redacted] and I found this demand from the office staff to be not only disheartening but also extremely UNETHICAL and INHUMANE of them. My mother who was pushing grandma in the wheelchair and from whom they also demanded me to take money to pay them is elderly and with limited income. My grandmother is now dead and how would that have made me feel??? Taking money from a dying old woman to pay this dental office, sorry but I could not be UNETHICAL and INHUMANE like the people in that office. They have openly admitted to their request for me to ask my grandmother and mother for money to pay them; shame on them for being shameless, unethical, inhumane and unprofessional. They threatened to send the bill to collections during my visit on 2-15 so I expected a collection bill but that never happened. Instead, I received multiple daily phone calls from the receptionist [redacted] and if daily phone calls are not harassment then I don't know what else to call it. I got so overwhelmed with the harassment that I paid them in full, including the interest so that they would stop harrasing me and I could go through the dying process with my grandma as she has been on hospice for a few months. I have yelped, as many people do, and shared my horrible experience with Dr. [redacted]'s office staff and I believe that there is nothing wrong with warning other vulnerable people of the bad business conducted by these people. I am not sure what "fantastic patient care" really entails but I can tell you that Excellent patient care is absolutely not one of the qualities a person can expect to receive from Dr. [redacted]'s dental office.
#3) I am so hopeful that I can someday afford to go on a multi city European vacation, if only I could be a dentist, deliver a service and overcharge people by at least 50% of what another dentist will charge for a [redacted]. They are obviously great at blowing things out of proportion.
#4) "She is using the internet posting as her weapon to destroy us". This sounds like someone in that office is watching too much television/cartoons...... Reminds me of something out of a Star Wars movie, just childish is all I can say.
5) I have paid balance $351 in full plus the interest of $14.49 which I hope they enjoyed carrying to the bank since I literally had to go in to my piggy bank and bring them every last penny I had to get them off my back and stop harassing me with phone calls over $14.49 since they are such penny Pinchers, I even gave them 1 extra cent for good luck (good luck to me). They are the most deceiving people I have ever done business with, even attorneys I have dealt with do better business than this dental office, sad but true.
Middle ground at this point would ideally be full refund or at least 50% refund of the total paid to them in the amount of $351 plus $14.49 interest =$365.49
