Thank you for your inquiry regarding [redacted] concerns with his 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche sold by us on June 16, 2015. While [redacted] Avalanche has underbody surface rustas is common with older vehicles in the Northeast (especially in Western New York}, our inspectors found no visual evidence of the catastrophic impending failures claimed by [redacted].It is my understanding that [redacted] completed a cross-country trip with this vehicle that included towing a loaded trailer. Included is the Car fax report for this vehicle. The report shows that this vehicle was New YorkState inspected and deemed road-worthy four (4) times between April28, 2014 and June 16,2015 by three different inspection stations. Our inspection process followed NYS DMV guidelines, which require a visual inspection of the frame and suspension mounting points. Our findings were consistent with two other non-affiliated inspection stations. If the vehicle's condition was as dire as[redacted] asserts, it seems plausible that at least one of the inspectors would have failed it. [redacted] did experience mechanical difficulty shortly after he picked up his vehicle just south ofPittsburgh, PA (240 miles from our Dealership). The vehicle was taken to [redacted] in Greensburg, PA. We discussed the repairs with [redacted] and the service staff at Star andpromptly issued a purchase order to cover the cost of the repair ($1,604) so that [redacted] could continue his trip with minimal delay. Revdex.com November 9, 2015[redacted] also expressed his belief that the [redacted] rust proofing was not properly applied. While our company did not apply the rustproofing We agreed to send him a refund check for $599 for thefull amount of the rustproofing.  We regret that [redacted] is not happy with his purchase, as it is our goal for all of our customers to be satisfied. When [redacted] did have a problem with his vehicle, we responded promptly andfully as a responsible retailer should. We strongly believe that we followed all of the regulations and guidelines to provide a commercially acceptable vehicle for its age and region of operation anddo not believe there is any reason to repurchase this vehicle. Thank you for your involvement in this matter and please feel free to contact me should you have any additional questions.Sincerely,~ Ken B[redacted]

close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]  I feel that the dealership is taking advantage of the opportunity the my situation presented to them.  I had purchased the vehicle with the intent of driving cross country pulling an RV with my family.  The dealership saw the opportunity to get this  vehicle in a very questionable state of dis-repair sold and would not have to worry about seeing it again as I was driving to Vancouver WA.  They knew the min state warranty would expire prior to my arrival home to WA. Since arriving in WA, I've had to replace both front break disk dust shields, both front wheel bearing hubs and mounting hardware, I no longer have a parking break since when I applied the parking break the rear break dust shield  that the parking brake assemble is attached to has disintegrated into a pile of rust.  Both rear break dust shields require replacement since the left is no longer attached to the vehicle, the right side is falling apart, and the only way to replace them is to completely pull the rear differential apart.  The front drive transmission leaks fluid as fast as it's put in and the front drive shaft for the 4WD is in no condition to be considered safe for use. When I move the truck out of the drive way there is a noticeable amount of rust laying on the ground.  The corrosion on the underside of the vehicle is so extensive that one of the molding panels has actually fallen off.  I spent $15000.00 on a pile of rust and I am by far not a satisfied customer, if this was a military aircraft it would not be safe for flight, it would be permanently de-commisioned and used for party.  I expected some MINOR problems with a used vehicle, NOT a complete and total waste of money.  Before retiring from the Air Force  I have never seen anything this shady and disreputable from a dealership that wasn't already black listed from the DOD.  In the kindest words I can muster right now, I've had better customer service from [redacted] who is rated #1 for worst customer service.
Regards,
[redacted]
