I was contacted by letter in aug -2017 over a year after the sale of property.claiming they had issues ,I talked with *** on the phone and asked if I could visit the home and see what was wrong ,upon meeting at the home *** and his wife confronted me with the problem within there home was
water in the basement and accused me of covering it up,I listened to them contuine to accuse me of shady workmanship and covering up stuff,after I volunteered to go over there *** told me within two weeks of buying the home there was a problem and I asked why he never contacted me ,he said he wasn't obligated too. I explained the work I did there and they weren't happy to here anything I had to say and ***,s wife asked me to leave..that was thatafter a couple weeks went by I got a letter from a lawyer claiming I owed *** 9,000.00 for repairs and I need to settle this or there will be legal consequencesI emailed *** and as I explained earlier to him I did not install the drain tile system in the home ,I only owned the home for days and did cosmetic changes and up grades, I even gave *** the info from the previous owners for him to contact about any questions.. I never had any water problems in the basement or did I cover up any issues,all the work was done and inspected by the city and fully permitted all work to proceed upon inspections 1- city of robbinsdale certificate of occupancy. all finalized permits 2- point of sale inspection 3- *** ,s own hired home inspection upon all these inspection not one issue was raised to me about any corrections except for the radon test .results we're higher then normal and I was asked to install a radon system for which I did put in a passive system .never heard anymore about radon oil aug -when *** said in his letter the radon levels were still high ,so I contacted him and set a date and time with my plumber and electrian to make it a active system at my expense.. even though there was no complaint about any radon for over a year claims about the grading around the home ,grading was no different then when the inspections were done and also ***s numerous walk throughs before purchasing the homesame as the basement issue all the inspections never found any issues *** told me within two weeks of buying the home he had issues but he never contacted me with problems ,just sent me a bill for repairs after over a year my question is why he didn't contact mewhy he hired other contractors without my knowledge of a problem then send me the billsi have all the inspection reports and permits available for you at your requestthank you ken ***hope this explains my point of view
