First, we apologize the your Kendall experience didn't exceed your expectations That is always our goal and we fell short in the case I am going to provide what was done in the case of your vehicle so that everything is communicated and understood What follows is the sequence of
events and findings from our service department
On 5/3/I received information from our sales team that we had a vehicle in Grangeville, ID with a possible brake issue that she had just bought months agoThe information I received was that the customer had taken her Journey into les Schwab for a noise coming out of the frontI was informed by *** *** that her Journey was sitting at les Schwab broke down because it was not safe to driveWe were also informed by *** that the customer had stated that Les Schwab had told her dealerships are is and don’t know how to fix brake problems. I got right on the phone and contacted the Manager *** of the store to see what was happeningJust as I had thought, the story was not accurateThe manager of the Grangeville store said that the customer had taken the journey to a store in Spokane with a brake problem, the manager stated that the Spokane store must have replaced the upper caliper bolt because it was not factoryHe stated that they looked the vehicle over and didn’t see anything dangerous or any reason it couldn’t be driven, he also assured me nothing negative had been said about any dealership. The Manager stated the only thing they recommend was two new tires on the front due to the alignment being out and wearing the outer edgesI informed the manager to just keep the vehicle there and we would drive, the miles, out there and pick it up and give the customer a loaner car to make sure everything checked outWe went and picked up the Journey and gave ***, our customer, a loanerWe brought her car back to shop and inspected itWe found the aftermarket bolt in the caliper that les Schwab put inThe bolt was fine, everything looked goodThe bolt was installed with a washer on it, just like factoryOur technician working on it stated that when he uses aftermarket bolts he likes to add a lock washerSo that is what he didAt that time we also recommend two front tires due to alignment being out. As of 5-3- The Journey had not been serviced in miles and at some point the front end alignment got knocked out and wore on front tiresAt that time recommendation was declined and vehicle was washed, fueled up, ( we received with fuel light on) and delivered back to Grangeville and loaner car picked upThere were no problems on the return. The next day we received a phone call back from the customer saying it was doing the same thing, grinding and felt like brakes were not workingSo we went back to Grangeville to look at the vehicle and make sure it was safe to drive and bring it backOur tech went and picked up the vehicle, drove around and could not duplicate the issue so he headed toward the shop On his return it started to grind on him, he stopped and checked it out and couldn’t see anything so he proceeded to shopWe put the car in the air and he dismantled the front brakes down to nothingWhile dismantling a wheel weight fell out of the front caliperAt some point the weight had fallen off the wheel and wedged into the caliperThe weight was rubbing and grinding against the rotor when shifting into a certain spotWhile vehicle was in route back to shop we had the parts department get us some factory bolts just to make sure that wasn’t causing any problemsAfter finding wheel weight we cleaned brake system, making sure no damage to rotor, replaced aftermarket Les Schwab bolt with factory, test drove vehicle, washed and delivered back to customer

Review: My husband and I have purchased two vehicles from Kendall dodge in lewiston Idaho. The first purchase wwent well, and the second one was a purchase of a used 1992 ford f 350. We had it for only a few weeks when it started having problems. We called to have it fixed numerous times to have it fixed. The problems ranged from the windows and lights not working,gas gauge not working to motor problems. Every time it went in it would stay in the shop and would come back with new problems. I asked that since we had just got it if we could just renew a loan and give it back. They would not consider that and just kept fixing it and we would drive it for a fee weeks and it would have another problem. We finally took it to another shop and had it fixed. I continued to report these problems and Kendall would still not trade the vehicle. Last July the transmission went out. We figured we would just have to pay for it. I called to see if we had paid our loan down enough to get rid of it but they still saidvthey wouldn't help us but I could have my insurance tow it to them (which I always had to do) they would see if the lian company would consider renewing a loan for more money to fix it. If they estimated to high then it would have to stay at the shop until we could pay for it. We make our payments and our truck is broke down out of state not running. We have only drove it for around 4 months since we got it. We have all the paperwork about the numerous problems. We just want to have a car to drive that is reliable. We know that we would still owe money on it but they should give us another vehicle or fix this one. We still have 2 years to pay on a truck we can't even use.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10345613 and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Thank you for helping me with my complaint. I called the CFO of Kendall and left a message. Our truck is broke down in Neperce Idaho with all of our paperwork in it. We have all the service orders. Also a local shop in town from fixed the water pump after the motor was fixed. I can get a copy of that but have no way to get to the pickup. Kendall also should have all that information. Also the CFO mentioned they had tried to contact us regarding a trade but I was told they could not help us numerous times. I hope that they will do the right thing and call me back. Should I see if service will fax me everything on the truck? They have been less than helpful and often rude when I have asked a question about it.
