Unrightfully kept rental deposit in addition to charging me $3900 for damage to an apt that wasn't done by me & I provided proof with initial ins.formI rented at [redacted] apartment (owned by Kenney Properties) in [redacted]. The local office and corporate office was so discouraged that I called them out on a Bait and Switch matter (they promised internet to be included in the rent fee of $1050 a month and then took it away) and when I moved out they are attempting to charge me over $3900 in damages that I did NOT do. I have provided the corporate office AND the local office all the documentation that clearly reflects that the damage they are attempting to charge me with happened BEFORE I moved in. I even had the intial inspection sheet and provided that showing the faulty window and horrific carpets caused by the previous tenants. They have ignored all of the documentation I have provided and I am going to have to waste time to take them to court. They are the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. Desired SettlementI am seeking my $350 deposit back and a zero balance.

Paid rent on apartment however my daughter is not able to live in it when needed because they have disabled the air conditioner. My daughter moved home to be an online student in December 2013. However, we paid the remaining rent to honor the contract through July because she did need to frequent the apartment for proctored tests through spring and both sessions of summer school. However, the last time she went down, the control panel had been removed causing her to have to stay somewhere else. I contacted the apartment office and talked to [redacted] about it. She said that they had identified a problem with the AC and had disconnected it to avoud overages. I questioned if that was the case, how could they explain the overages charged in the last six months? No answer. I asked why they removed it rather than repairing. Answer was they knew [redacted] wasn't living there so they did not think it was being a problem. Based on their assumptions, rather than facts, they made her apartment inhabitable during the summer months. I asked for a refund for the month of July. She said she would talk to corporate and get back with me. Two days later I had to call again. She still had not heard from Corporate. I asked for the number and talked to [redacted] She never responded to [redacted]'s calls or emails. She finally called me back and still no resolution. She said she would call [redacted] at [redacted] Apartments and call me back with answers. I have still not heard from her. My daughter still has to go down for proctored tests and still has to make other arrangements to stay. I don't think this is fair to me or her since I have paid the rent but my daughter cannot stay in the rented apartment. I would like a resolution to this problem and that resolution would be to refund my July rent payment.Desired SettlementI am asking for my $604.00 for July rent along with the overages charged over the last six months. There cannot be overages when [redacted] only stayed a very limited number of nights when she had proctored tests. It was probably a total of 8 - 10 nights during the past six months. The rent is supposed to cover expenses as well. I would settle for the rent only.Business Response [redacted] came into the [redacted] office on July 12, 2014 to turn in the keys to her apartment, as her lease was set to expire at the end of the month. When [redacted] turned in her keys, she told management that she had stopped by the apartment and noticed that the thermostat had been removed. [redacted] was informed that maintenance was making repairs to the air conditioner in her unit and would get it taken care of right away. On Monday, July 14, 2014, [redacted] ([redacted]'s mother) contacted [redacted] at the corporate office asking for a refund of July rent because the air conditioner was not working in the apartment. [redacted] admitted that [redacted] had not been living in the apartment and had only visited the apartment to move the remainder of her items and turn the keys in. [redacted] stated that due to the fact that the air conditioner wasn't working on the day that [redacted] stopped by, she wanted a refund of her rent for the month of July. [redacted] informed [redacted] that a refund would not be given, but that she would ensure the property get the air conditioner working right away. [redacted] said that [redacted] had already moved out so it didn't matter if the air conditioner was fixed - she would only be happy with a refund of rent. [redacted] promised to get the air conditioner fixed and told [redacted] she would follow up with her regarding the status of this work order. On Wednesday, July 16, 2014, [redacted] confirmed that the air conditioner had been fixed and called and left a message with [redacted].
