Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: All the cracks and spalling are in one location Parts of that same area are visibly bad, i.ethe finishing was not done in a correct mannerI don't believe that the concrete was bad, and I have not claimed that, only the finishingI was told that by the foreman that did the job initially When he came to inspect the damage, he told me that the company would replace the bad parts The owner then overruled him I believe that if any experienced, independent inspector would examine that portion of the driveway and walkway, they would agree with thatKenny's Concrete warranty does cover workmanship, and I believe that that is the cause Sincerely, [redacted]

The materials and the workmanship are not inferior, if so the entire driveway would have issuesWe do everything we can to have a quality product, materials, compaction, workmanship Concrete does and will crack, just because the concrete cracks doesn't mean it is a poor jobIf the consumer wants I will make an appointment with the concrete company to come out and look at it Also like I said before the crack across the slab we can grind and caulk, or we could possibly replace the one slab as for the cracks at the corners we can remove those small sections at the joints and replace We will not replace the whole driveway

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Below are direct quotes from Kenny’s Concrete’s written warranty:(1) “We, at Kenny’s Concrete, try very hard to ensure that for many years to come, you will have excellent and long lasting concrete flatwork inside and around your home.”Comment: Excellent is defined as “possessing outstanding quality or superior merit; remarkably good” and Long-lasting is defined as “resisting the effects of wear or use over a long period.” We paid over $11,for a replacement driveway that meets neither of these basic commitments.(2) “We want your driveway to look good and last a long timeIt starts with us doing a quality job.”Comment: We think a reasonable interpretation of Look good would be a driveway that does not have noticeable cracks across the face of multiple slabs (NOT in the control joints) within a few months of installationWe think a reasonable interpretation of last a long time would be more than a few monthsAnd we think a quality product would be one that is not so obviously inferiorWe received a defective product that began cracking and crumbling almost immediately.(3) “We install control joints where the concrete is most likely to crack If the concrete cracks in the control joint, this is exactly what we hoped for.”Comment: Indeed there are many cracks along the control joints of our replacement drivewayMore than we could have imaginedThe problem, as mentioned above, is there are multiple cracks across the face of slabs, not just in the control jointsIt’s worth noting the driveway we replaced was years old and did not have a single crack across the face of any of the slabsKenny’s driveway has three face cracks in less than a yearClearly Kenny’s utilized inferior materials and/or workmanship.(4) “Whether it’s your driveway, porch, sidewalk, patio or basement floor, we will do everything we can to satisfy you as a customer.”Comment: We contracted with Kenny’s concrete because we trusted them to give us the promised “excellent and long lasting” productWe trusted their commitment to “do a quality job” and “do everything we can to satisfy you as a customer.” And we trusted them for a driveway that would “look good and last a long time.” We’ve seen none of these thingsWe believe Kenny’s driveway was so obviously defective that it should be replaced again.Kenny’s is unwilling to stand behind their commitments to excellence, quality, and durabilityTo offer to simply “caulk” the cracks across the face of these slabs instead of replace the concrete itself is unreasonableNote: Attached is a photo of one of the cracks Kenny calls “hairline.” Sincerely, [redacted] ***

We did replace the customers driveway. No where does it guarantee against breaks or cracks. Concrete does crack, we do everything in our power to prevent them, compact the soil, use the best materials and install control joints. We provide every customer with an information packet,
a warranty and the back of our proposal also states our warranty. We do not warranty hairline cracks. The owner did over to fix the cracks by grinding them and caulking them and the owner declined

I am rejecting this response because: All the cracks and spalling are in one location. Parts of that same area are visibly bad, i.ethe finishing was not done in a correct mannerI don't believe that the concrete was bad, and I have not claimed that, only the finishing. I was told that by the foreman that did the job initially. When he came to inspect the damage, he told me that the company would replace the bad parts. The owner then overruled him. Kenny's Concrete warranty does cover workmanship, and I believe that that is the cause.

***'s who is the owner did inspect the crack and said he would repair itCustomer did not want to do thatThe foreman said he never told the customer it was due to bad finishingConcrete cracks, we do not warranty hairline cracks, spalling is caused from snow and ice freezing and thawing or
mag-chloride (the cities and counties apply mag-chloride to the roads, to de ice them, people drive on the roads pull in there driveways and it drips onto the drives and if not washed off it will corrode the driveway) I provide a packet that explains how to care for new concrete

We have spoke with Customer and went out to his residence. He has a hairline crack in a part of his driveway extension. We looked at it before and let him know we would keep an eye on it. We inspected the crack last week with the customer and it still a hairline crack.
Concrete does crack and we do not warranty hairline cracksWe let the customer know that we would fix the crack or cut the section out and replace it. He is going to think about it and let us know how he wants to proceed

The materials and the workmanship are not inferior, if so the entire driveway would have issues. We do everything we can to have a quality product, materials, compaction, workmanship. Concrete does and will crack, just because the concrete cracks doesn't mean it is a poor jobIf the consumer wants I will make an appointment with the concrete company to come out and look at it. Also like I said before the crack across the slab we can grind and caulk, or we could possibly replace the one slab as for the cracks at the corners we can remove those small sections at the joints and replace. We will not replace the whole driveway

As I said before we do not warranty spalling or hairline cracks, The OWNER offered to fix it, it does not warrant replacementIf the concrete was bad the entire driveway would be damaged
