Ken's Pack & Move Reviews (1)

Table damaged during move. Unable to get company to adress the damage they cause. On April 2,2015 kens pack and move was to move my dining room set, a dresser night stand, mattress and numerous boxes to an apartment for me. Upon unloading we noticed the dining room table top was badly damaged. The movers assured me they were insured as they advertised and they would have it repaired. A man from a restoration company was sent to look at it the next week. However when he arrived and saw the damage he informed me he would not be able to fix the damage and would speak to the company owner and call me. A week and a half passed and I heard nothing from anyone so I call the company. The owner answered and informed me that my table had been fixed. I informed him that not only had it not been fixed but I had been told the man couldn't fix it. He's then stated to me that he was told it would be $450 it should be fixed. He said he would call the restoration company and call me right back. Again I waitec and waited and heard nothing from anyone. I began calling kens pack and move again and each time got a voicemail. After leaving several messages and getting no response, I asked another' company called [redacted] to give me an estimate for repair. On April 30th they came and gave me an estimate which I emailed to Kens pack and move. I also sent them a copy certified. This caused them to finally respond to me. I received a nasty email saying that they had tried to fix the table and I would not cooperate. I was astounded. I called another number that was attached to the email which turned out to be the owners wife's cell phone. She became very unprofessional and extremely rude and told me that she had called me several times which is completely false and that I was "crazy" and a "problem for her since the first day of the move". There was nothing they ours do tabout my table that THEY damaged. I then texted the owner who told me that it sounded like I was fixing it so that was that. The next day I texted him and asked him when I could expect him to address this. He then informed me that I was ruining his good day and that I needed to work on my attitude. Throughout our series of texts I received such replies as "lmao" and that I need to "work on being a better person". The only answer I could get about my table is that they may address the damages "soon". None of what has transpired with these people is acceptable. I would really appreciate some help with this matter. Please feel free to contact me. The work order quote # is [redacted]. That is the only number I see on the paperwork regarding the move. The table is [redacted] dark cherry, sku:[redacted]. The estimate that I was quoted by [redacted] is for $865.00 .Thank you for any help you can provide. [redacted]Desired SettlementWould like reimbursement for the cost of repair by a professional that I choose. I don't feel comfortable with kens pack and move choosing someone because of what has transpired thus far. Business Response We did send a repair guy to assess the damages to customers table he then called us with an estimate to fix the table which was $450.00 at that point we told the furniture company to contact the customer to arrange another date to go out and repair customers table. We left several messages for Ms.[redacted] to schedule an appointment for our furniture repair company to come back out.The calls came from the owner, office manager and the furniture repair company for three days in a row. She did not return any calls. So we had assumed she was not wanted to continue further services from us. We never received any missed calls or voicemails from the customer that she is claiming she left. Just last week is when the customer sent an email and certified mail with a quote in it from another furniture repair company that she then stated we needed to take care of this for her which was double the amount that our furniture repair company was going to charge us. We had heard nothing from this customer for a whole month and tried to repair it during the week it was damaged. The owner, office manager, and furniture repair company all three atest to trying to contact and schedule us to come out. Even now so after it being a month we told her we would send someone out to repair the table within a week and she at that point said ok. So I am unsure of what this case is for. We have offered to repair table but not pay the double amount when we have a company that will do it for half that price. Consumer Response Company just keeps telling me someone will contact me from a restoration company soon. But no one ever does. If they are willing to fix this table, why don't they do it. I've already waited for them to do it for almost two months. When are they going to actually do something?? Need this resolved would like to be done with this already. Thank you
