Kens transmissions is a life saver!

After 2 days losing business and calling trying figure out what exactly was wrong and how much to fix it, let me say this wasn't a fun time!

Most transmission companies wanted me to bring my car in and then the would give me a price. The problem with that was my transmission was out and they knew that if I brought it there I would be stuck and they could charge whatever they wanted because of the cost to keep moving it with a tow truck to other transmission shops!

Ken made it easy to do business,

Ken drove 44 miles for a total of 88 miles both ways at no charge with a tow truck. This is after he gave me a price over the phone, VERY FAIR PRICE!!

They came and picked my van yesterday morning and I picked it up the same day at 5 p.m. WOW!!

If you're wise you'll call Kens Transmission because you wont get a better price or service!!

My name is Phil H[redacted], I am the manager and drivability Tech at Ken's Transmissions. When this vehicle came to my shop it would stop moving in a mile road test, the filter was plugged with debris, so we rebuilt this transmission and replaced the torque converter as we do with all rebuilds. The filter is internal of the transmission and has to be completely disassembled for replacement. The customer has a warranty and if anything occurs it will be covered under his warranty. If Acura and Aamco can show proof in their minds that this wasn't rebuilt, I would like a written affidavit so when we go to court I can have them subpoenaed. I would be happy to remove this Transmission in front of all to see so I can show all new: clutches, internal seals, gaskets, updated pressure regulator valve, and end plugs which is all part of my standard procedures of rebuilds. My Builder [redacted], built this transmission himself for [redacted]. [redacted] is a friend of his family. This vehicle was towed hear from Acura in Tempe where it was diagnosed by Acura as needing a new transmission.

The customer brought vehicle in on the 8th and gave ok on the 15th to rebuild transmission.  Here is copy of parts installed in transmission. If Mr. [redacted] would like me to show him that we rebuilt the transmission I would be happy to pull the dust cover and show him that the torque...

convertor has been replaced and the only way to do that is to remove transmisson.  Mr. [redacted] did not make any attempts to contact me and tell me any issues he felt as I could have resolved this.

Kens Transmission did not honor their 12 mo warranty

     I have resolved the issue with Mr. [redacted].  I refunded his money for the a/c work. ...

I received a reply from Ken's Transmission with 3 attached scans of the same receipt I had (not an itemized receipt) as well as some 2 invoices for some parts used in the repairs. I am NOT a mechanic, and I would take the advice from an Acura Dealership and AAMCO any-day and they BOTH informed me that if I was told that my transmission was rebuilt, they saw NO evidence that it was rebuilt. I contacted AAMCO when I received this email and they told me that the torque converter can be replaced WITHOUT rebuilding the transmission!!!
 
I did make attempts to get in contact with [redacted] (left voicemail) from Ken's Transmission as well as when I called Ken on Monday Aug 8th requesting an itemized report of the parts used and what was done I got the reply " my mind can't go that far back", "why do you need an itemized list" and he reiterated the transmission was rebuilt!! Again I am no mechanic so if Ken's Transmission told me I needed to get my torque converter replaced which involves REMOVING the transmission, then that is totally different from being told my transmission was REBUILT!!! AAMCO even reaffirmed that with labor and parts, the cost can vary but reiterated that the transmission was NOT rebuilt as seals, bolts etc showed NO sign whatsoever.
So again, being told one thing from Ken's Transmission and the being SHOWN by 2 different independent companies that what was told me me was not accurate, I had to get to the bottom of this!!

Review: Paid $190.00 to have the air conditioning repaired. The air still does not work (by they're own admission).

I also paid them $375.00 for fixing a transmission leak which was repaired and no longer leaks.Desired Settlement: Refund the pmt for the air conditioning which they did not get to work.
