I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]I know what the charges are for because yes they were explained to me over and over. I am still arguing the $because I don't feel that is right when you have a contract to bring your wrecker out there to tow vehicles verses someone calling you to come tow a vehicle. I wouldn't be arguing the $if that was how it went down but its not. I feel that's a charge you should eat or make *** pay $for every vehicle you tow. I am not the only one that has complained about you and/or your business. The other tenants you towed that night were just as unhappy about the charges I am just the only one who is brave enough to try and fight back for money I feel you charged unfairly. Also for the fact that you wouldn't allow people to pay with a credit card either when you take credit cards to begin with. Having to do numerous transactions at an ATM is ridiculous too. So I have spoke my peace about the whole situation.
Regards,
Chelsie ***

For some reason, Ms*** doesn't understand the billing process which had been explained to her a number of times. The $that she is still argueing about is not a charge to come out and look for vehicles, it is the base charge for the wrecker to drive out to tow the vehicle. There is a $charge to load the vehicle on dollies and $for the miles round trip to and from the call for a total of $250.00, which is what she was charged. To date I have received more phone calls from management and tenants thanking me for the fantastic job I'm doing making sure other tenants have parking places to park when they get home, then this one and only complaint. If everyone would follow the rules and have respect for their fellow tenants, no one would be unhappy

In response to the complaint made by Laurie ***, her vehicle was illegally parked in a "No Parking Zone" and it was called in by the property owner to be towed. Tow aways need special equipment and require to towers to carefully load and tow these vehicles. It is more
work to remove a vehicle from a parking spot without the keys, so based on how these cars are parked, the type of vehicle, whether they are wheel drive, etcthe cost will vary. Ms*** was the only customer who yelled and screamed about her vehicle getting towed, and bottom line, she was illegally parked so that is the chance she took with the decision she made. In addition, we don't have a ususal fee, as every situation is different, and based on the location of the car, whether we have keys or not, the reason the vehicle is disabled, or if it was in an accident and based on the extent of the damage, we cannnot tell you what the price will be until we have a specific situation to quote. No refund will be granted.Sincerely,Lisa ***Kent's Service Center & Towing, Inc

In response to ID# ***, this case is very simple. A formal notice was sent out on 7/29/2016, giving great detail on all parking guidelines, on *** ***, for all *** tenants. Included was a detailed map, and an assigned parking permit which is numbered to the numbered stall
in the parking lot, that is clearly explained, that it needs to be hung from the rear view mirror of the vehicle. On 6/9/17, at 9:pm, when the parking lot was checked, there was a vehicle without a parking permit and it was towed. On 6/10/17, Chelsie called about the missing vehicle and asked why it was towed. I told her because it had no parking permit. She told me she has a parking permit and that is her stall. I asked where the permit was, and she told me it was hanging from the rear view mirror in her car. I asked her where her car was parked, she said on the street so her sister could park in her stall. I told her she could fix this problem one of two ways. One, she should park with her permit in her assigned stall, and have her sister park on the street, or two, if she wished to park on the street with her vehicle, then she needed to put her permit in her sisters vehicle to be able to park in her stall. She seemed very frustrated and did not seem to understand the concept. As far as the charges, they are self explanatory and in fair market value, with competitors in our area, for a mile round trip tow of a vehicle that we have no keys to. As far as payment, under the circumstances, all tow always are cash for obvious reasons. This tow could have been avoided had Chelsie followed the rules

Dear Benita ***,In response to your 2nd letter dated 4/22/16. It is very sad that Laurie *** is not able to understand and wishes to blame everyone else for the situation she and their family put themselves in. 1. They knowingly parked, not one, but of their vehicles on very clearly posted private property. 2. ***s management watched them park their cars and walk over to UWSP campus, without patronizing their establishment. 3. Ms*** ran screaming about the parking lot trying to stir up a mutiny with other people that had their car towed. If she would have continued this behavior, she may have fired up an uproar that would have put myself and my staff in danger if things got out of control. I very clearly walked up to her and asked her to gain her composure, she was 100% in the wrong, please do not get the gathering crowd all worked up. She then threw her hands up in the air and screamed "Did anyone get that on tape, where's my cell phone, I need to record this as I have just been physically and verbally assaulted". I walked back to my truck to continue my job, and the gentleman standing right next to Ms*** followed me back to my wrecker and he politely acknowledged the fact that he was parked in the wrong and asked if we could unload his car which was on the wrecker and about to leave the lot. We calmly discussed the situation, he paid me for the service we provided, we lowered his car down and returned it to him. He then walked up to me, reached out to grab my hand and said "I am a priest, and I would like to thank you for what you have done for me" and shared a prayer with me that the good Lord would watch over me and guide me in my journeys. Only to listen to Ms*** still screaming in the background. At no time did I lose my temper, raise my voice or lose my composure. Ms*** states, "It is not fair to adjust cost based on your mood". The cost incurred was based on man power and equipment needed, as for me, I was happy to be there to assist a fellow small business owner who incurs the cost for snow removal of his parking lot, maintains the condition of his lot and pays taxes on his property for his customers to use. Which at this time the lot was full of people attending a track meet that gave the appearance to potential customers who drove by wishing to receive fast food at a fast food restaurant, noticing a full parking lot believing they were very busy and drove by. Ms*** said she called the police in regards to this situation. To date, the City of *** *** *** *** has made no attempt to contact me regarding this situation. 4. To address Ms ***’s comment of "charging people inflated charges", how would she know what a wrecker costs, a facility to park it in, maintenance and upkeep, insurance on these items, and to pay someone to be on call hours a day, days a week, days a year, with insurance and benefits. The rate she was charged is a rate that has been charged since 2/5/without any increase. The *** vehicles that were towed, were each discounted from $down to $each, due to Tom ***'s composure and a recent customer at my repair facility. I sincerely remain,Kent ***

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] I do not dispute that I did park on a private parking lot however; I patronize ***’s business and did not see any signs regarding extended parking that being said I understand I was not in the restaurant at the time my vehicle was towed however; my complaint is that charges should be reflective of actual costs with attempts to mitigate charges considering the type of situationEach person that had their car towed was there to watch their child at a track meet and unable to find parking, there simply was no parking available, a common problem being address by the cityI was there to pick my daughters up from the track meet and needed to transport them home and to school the following day and I needed to get to work I do not accept the response made by Kent’s Towing for the following reasonsMs*** was not at the ***’s parking lot location therefore she cannot attest to anything that happened furthermore, I was not the only person complaining nor was I screaming, in fact I called the police in regards to Kent’ s outrageous behaviorI was told later that Kent was acting out due to the stressful situation going on back at his shop where angry people were gathering, it is not fair to adjust costs based on your moodHow could Ms*** possible know which “customer” I am? I never showed ID and I did not pick up my car, a relative did. Please consider that when charging people inflated charges in such a situation you are impacting their lives in ways you cannot even imagine and the harmful outcome affects childrenI most certainly agree to pay the actual costs however, it is obvious these charges were inflated and varied from person to person as each car was stationary, without keys and parked in the same fashion as the nextNone of these cars were wrecked, disabled, none had keys in them and all were in the same location within feet of each other, as stated by Ms*** those would be reasons a charge may differ
Regards,
Laurie ***
