work to remove a vehicle from a parking spot without the keys, so based on how these cars are parked, the type of vehicle, whether they are 4 wheel drive, etc... the cost will vary.  Ms. [redacted] was the only customer who yelled and screamed about her vehicle getting towed, and bottom line, she was illegally parked so that is the chance she took with the decision she made.  In addition, we don't have a ususal fee, as every situation is different, and based on the location of the car, whether we have keys or not, the reason the vehicle is disabled, or if it was in an accident and based on the extent of the damage, we cannnot tell you what the price will be until we have a specific situation to quote.  No refund will be granted.Sincerely,Lisa [redacted]Kent's Service Center & Towing, Inc

In response to ID# [redacted], this case is very simple.  A formal notice was sent out on 7/29/2016, giving great detail on all parking guidelines, on [redacted], for all [redacted] tenants.  Included was a detailed map, and an assigned parking permit which is numbered to the numbered stall...

in the parking lot, that is clearly explained, that it needs to be hung from the rear view mirror of the vehicle.  On 6/9/17, at 9:30 pm, when the parking lot was checked, there was a vehicle without a parking permit and it was towed.  On 6/10/17, Chelsie called about the missing vehicle and asked why it was towed.  I told her because it had no parking permit.    She told me she has a parking permit and that is her stall.  I asked where the permit was, and she told me it was hanging from the rear view mirror in her car.  I asked her where her car was parked, she said on the street so her sister could park in her stall.  I told her she could fix this problem one of two ways.  One, she should park with her permit in her assigned stall, and have her sister park on the street, or two, if she wished to park on the street with her vehicle, then she needed to put her permit in her sisters vehicle to be able to park in her stall.  She seemed very frustrated and did not seem to understand the concept.   As far as the charges, they are self explanatory and in fair market value, with competitors in our area, for a 30 mile round trip tow of a vehicle that we have no keys to.  As far as payment, under the circumstances, all tow always are cash for obvious reasons.   This tow could have been avoided had Chelsie followed the rules.

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH KENT'S SERVICE CENTER & TOWING, INC. Kent, the owner of Kent’s Service Center and Towing is an unethical businessman that takes advantage of college students by excessively charging for services and holding their vehicles as hostage. Do not patronize his business. Our son and 2 of our daughter’s friends were spending the weekend in Stevens Point at her apartment. They had parked their vehicles in the apartment complex and they ended up getting towed. Kent towed their vehicles at 11:00 p.m. on Friday night. When the kids called to get their vehicles they were told that it would cost $260 EACH and that they had to pay in cash. The vehicles were towed less than 2 miles and held for less than 24 hours. He refused to take credit card, yet his website and door stated that credit cards were an accepted form of payment. He tried to justify the excessive price and became immediately belligerent refusing to take payment and give the kids their vehicles. He pushed my husband out of the shop and said that we needed to leave and come back on Monday. We ended up calling the police in order to get our vehicles. When calling, he stated that it wasn’t the first time he had the police called. He then increased the price to $300 EACH per vehicle. As a business owner, Kent is a bully that takes advantage of customers and demands cash so that customers have no recourse after he collects the money. The police stayed until we were able to retrieve the vehicles. Had we not called the police, we would not have gotten our vehicles, the kids would have missed school on Monday and he would have charged them holding fees for the weekend. I don’t know how any individual can have such a lack of ethics and conscience!

ent was going to tow one of my vehicle. I asked him not to and ill move it. He said I would have to paid $100 for him not to tow it. He then wanted an extra $25 because I had to take it out from my bank. He took the money and didn't give me a invoice or anything. I called 10 minutes later to see if I can pick up the receipt. The person who picked up said I would have to go in and pay taxes to get a receipt. I went there and asked why do I have to pay for taxes on the "service" I already paid for. The guy instantly turned rude and asked me if I wanted it or not. I told him I do but I'm not paying $7 for a receipt that I should have gotten with. The counter guy then said he doesn't know and I'll have to wait for Kent myself. After waiting 45min Kent showed up and I went in asking him if I could get my receipt. He then rudely asked my if I brought my money for the tax. I told him why would I have to pay for tax to get my receipt unless he didn't plan to put it in paper and just pocket the money. I told him I talked to a driver from Johnson's towing that was dropping off a vehicle about the tax and receipt cost and he thought it was outrageous as I should be able to get one if I paid for it. Kent then opened his shop door and told me to get out of the shop. I followed him out and he closed the door. As soon as we got outside out of his shop camera view, he started yelling at me not to tell him what he should and shouldn't do. He said he doesn't [redacted] care that I talked to Santa Claus and what he thinks it's right or not. Hes been running his business for 30years. How he runs his business is on him. He told me I can call the cops if I wanted but they aren't going to do anything about me getting a receipt and he's going to be laughing at me when that happens. He then wanted to know why I needed a receipt for in the first place so I told him so I know where my money is going. He laughed and said even if he wrote me a invoice, what makes me think that will stop him from pocketing my money, he could just tear it up. He told me I should be happy he didnt take my car and just took the $125 instead. Kent then said if I want the receipt I would have to pay for taxes because it's going to take him time to fill the paperwork and the hassle I'm causing by not letting it go. During the entire conversation outside, I felt a lot of aggression and taunting towards me and fearing for my own safety being half his size, I finally gave up the request for my receipt and left. I would not recommend Kent's towing to anyone from this experience. No business should act this way even out of camera view towards anybody.

I got towed by Kent's towing Saturday morning after leaving my car on main overnight. When I went to go get my car they were closed and did not answer the phone until the Portage county police called them and patched them through. Then they promptly gave me the option of paying a service charge that would bring the bill up to $285 or wait until Monday when they would charge me $295. When they got there I found out that even though they advertised being able to use your card, all he wanted was cash and had to run down the road to Kwik Trip to pull the money out of the ATM. The person then said that it would have cost less on a weekday but nobody likes working the weekend. After getting my car back I went to work later that day at my normal rate.
