I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint
[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Owner of joh eagle honda contacted me over the phone while he was in defense mode from the get goWe discussed the matter while he asked for my family members name and said he is getting the folderWhen I explained to him what exactly had happened he told me (while he didnt seem to have any issue with any proof for my relationship with that family member) he has a signed form giving them permission to run her credit! I donot remember readig any form stating that but it is possible that the sales man used my family members lack of knowledge and got the signature from her while she had no idea what she was signingMy goal was not to get a discount from the business nor even an apologyMy goal was to make it clear for the higher up management that what kind of employees they have and how they conduct businessMy family member does not have the time and nor she cares to follow up in court and thats why we are going to leave this matter at this point( even though I personally would love to follow up ...) We will take our business else where and others can judge for their own as well

*** ***

[Like I said it before I never had any issues with the starterWhen I handed the keys to the technician, the van started normallyIf there was any abnormality, the technician would have noticed it right away and would have told me before taking my van for serviceThe technician would agree with me that when I gave him the keys the van started normallyWhat I don't get is how come a good starter turns bad when the van spends few hours in John Eagle's service department? I was even told that guys in the service department had to hit the starter to start the vanThat might have damaged the starter and caused it to fail permanentlyMy $claim is to recover the cost of the repairs that I paid plus the frustration, inconvenience, and distress that I was caused by this whole transactionI hope after reading my reply, John Eagle Honda would not waste more time and send me the payment for $.]
Regards,

I have reviewed the notes from the technician who worked on the Honda Odyssey with roughly 130,miles on itHe was in for an oil and filter change which we performed as requestedWhile the customer was here we checked for any updates or recalls and found it needed the updated fuel pump,
which we performed at no charge to the customerWhile the technician was starting the car, he logged a starter issue which was quite apparentWe told the customer that he would need a starter soon as it was going outWe offered to help the customer with a discounted starter replacementI would estimate between 300-500.00....So, if the customer paid $for a starter repair, that person needs to consider where they get their car serviced. This was the first time to service at John Eagle Honda as we have no previous service historyEven so, we try to satisfy any and all customers so we are willing to offer a 15% discount on any future servicingI find no issue with the process in which this servicing was completed and all is in lineClearly the customer was informed of the starter issue during the fuel pump replacement and had zero to do with the starter failing

*** *** had a battery go out on 5-10-which we replaced under his month unlimited mileage warranty on his Honda. The replacement battery warranted by American Honda only has a warranty from the original months of the in service date of the Honda he purchased so even thought it was a
new battery, the vehicles warranty made the battery warranted only through Its prorated, simple as that The month battery warranty is only good if a customer purchases a new battery and it too is prorated by the number of months used*** *** has never purchased a battery for this vehicle.Warranties are dictated by the manufacturer, John Eagle Honda only abides by the manufacturers warranty guidelinesIf *** *** has any questions about the Honda warranty, please call American Honda Motor Company and the telephone number can be found easily on lineCustomer ServiceThanks and I am sorry he is confused about Honda's warranty

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
First, the response from the business does not propose any action to resolve my complaint.  Second, the response from the business ignores the facts.  Those facts are that: 1) The replacement battery had a 100-month warranty sticker on it, and 2) I was never advised that the replacement battery's warranted life would be less than 100 months.  The business was negligent in not disclosing their policy, if that indeed was their policy at the time that the replacement battery was installed.I am asking only to be treated fairly in this matter.  I had to go buy a new battery (because Honda would not honor the 100-month warranty) which cost me in excess of $130.  I would expect Honda to cover about 1/2 of this amount given the facts.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. John Eagle Honda has delivered the car back to the customer completed as agreed.

I just got off the phone with [redacted] I was threatened with a lawsuit for pulling a family members credit bureau. I have no proof he is a family member.  He gave me the family members name of [redacted] He was upset I am assuming of pulling her credit file. I am unable to discuss...

anything with this gentlemen regarding [redacted] car purchase or her credit history. I can say for the record that [redacted] signed all necessary paperwork permitting John Eagle Honda to pull a credit report and we have verified  her signature with her Texas Drivers License. Due to the threats made to my dealership by this individual and saying he was calling the police we will not communicate with this individual any further. I will refer his future inquiries to our attorneys.

We don't make everyone happy. No such a thing in business but it wont stop me from trying. I opened this dealership in 1984 and have one of the highest ratings with [redacted] and a 7 time Presidents Award winning dealership. We have a perfect Revdex.com rating. We make about 9.5 out of 10 happy (95%). After reviewing the paperwork my salesman, sales managers and everyone involved followed the rules and if there was a miscommunication on our behalf, we apologize for that. There were absolutely no rules or statutes violated and we acted in good faith. I might add again for the Revdex.com info, this is not the person who was attempting to purchase a car. This is a "family member" whom we have no proof of that, complaining that we did something wrong. We see no rules or laws violated whatsoever.

We sent a check to the lienholder on January 22, 2017. If the lienholder has an overage, it is up to them to send a check to the customer. [redacted]

Here...

is our response: We have attempted to contact this customer on numerous occasions and left messages. They are documented contacts by my service manager Shawn S[redacted] and through our dealership monitoring system. We want to correct the molding as soon as possible. The vehicle does have to be driven by the body shop to correct the problem but we will utilize a body shop closer. However, we did not put 200 miles on the car and the car was driven to the body shop and back only. We will only pay for the molding if our authorized body shop does the work as that was our agreement. We want this resolved immediately so the customer will have to respond to Shawn S[redacted].  We will also allow a loaner car while her car is being serviced. Once the vehicle molding is repaired there will be nothing owed or promised. Mac D[redacted] President/Managing Partner John Eagle Honda of Houston [redacted]
