Select Your Own Seat is a quick reference to the prices available to the public and was consciously setup as such. Additionally, listing the price range this way is standard practice for performing arts venues, regardless if those public seats are accessible in nature or not. Putting more detailed information in the section price ranges would potentially cause more confusion with the public rather than offer clarity. There are other services and seat details beyond accessible seating that we offer such as larger seats, premium seating, limited view seating, etc., that may or may not be available depending on performance and availability. That is why we keep the more detailed per seat information, including price, in the hover information on each seat. This also helps to reduce website processing time to speed up website performance and purchases.
Referencing your conversation with our phone representatives, since you did not identify yourself as having a mobility disability that required the use of an accessible location, the price exclusive to accessible seating (at that time) was not offered to you. Again, this is intentional. Unfortunately, we do have ticket buyers that attempt to take advantage of accessible locations when they do not have an accessible need, even more so since the 2010 amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act that requires all arts organizations, who allow ticket purchasing online, to also display and allow ticket purchasing of accessible seats as fluidly as non-accessible seating. Basically, we have to control this inventory as tightly as possible to allow those who do require these locations the opportunities to experience the arts.
I may have gone a bit too in-depth, but I want to highlight that the procedures we have in place are for a reason and based on many factors.
To address your other request, we cannot offer the $28.00 price in the $95.00 section beyond the accessible seat location. However, as of 11/10/14, Broadway Across America approved a student rush discount for [redacted] which offers significant discounts in certain areas of the house, based on availability.
