Kentucky Health Cooperative Reviews (15)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Yes I would like my money back, but telling me that it would be mailed out soon has no meaning whatsoever to meI've been told since the beginning of March that the money will be mailed to me any day nowWell, it's been over a month and I am tired of hearing any day nowIf I had submitted a late insurance payment to your company, I would have already been canceledWhat I want to hear is, I am so sorry for your inconvenience, the payment is being sent in the mail TODAY (4/16/15)] Regards, [redacted] %

I did check to see if we had followed up and we had We believe Ms***' complaint to be resolved at this time

Kentucky Health Cooperative is an insurance company for second class citizens...of a third world country It has a reduced to bare bones formularyIt does not pay physicians on time or everIt is a disgrace to the Commonwealth of KentuckyI know of many prominent clinics and physicians who refuse to take this insurance now because of slow or no payment of benefits I don't want to list my personal experience for fear of retribution from this companyBut as an example, I have a hospital bill of 5,dollars from an in network providerKYC claims that I only owe 1k, but the hospital bills me over and over and it's been a YEARKYC refuses to call the hospital to clear up the bill, saying "we don't make phone calls" Formulary is deceptively worthlessI have had to buy out of pocket many common medicines and I have a GOLD PLANIt is implemented by a third party provider Pro Care pharmacy, who could care less about getting you the right prescription Run away from this company as fast as you canIt's worth it to purchase insurance from a reputable company instead of third class "cooporative"

Ms [redacted] claim was originally denied due to a COB record that came over from kynect on her original enrollment file indicating she had other insurance coverageWe have since verified she does not and a claims supervisor was instructed on June 17, to reprocess the claimHowever, that claim will be processed using the diagnosis code that was submitted on the claim by her providerThat diagnosis code does not reflect a procedure that should have been processed as preventive and paid at 100% as mandated by the Affordable Care ActMs [redacted] was advised of the incorrect coding for this claim when she contacted NHicks of our call center at 8:a.mon April 24, She was informed of the miscoding of the claim at that time as well as the fact that the miscoding was the reason why the claim was adjudicated in the manner it wasMs [redacted] was also advised during the same call that she could contact the provider and ask that they resubmit the claim with the correct codeAs of today, no resubmitted claim has been received from her provider

Thanks Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved Regards, [redacted] %

KYHC Response to complaint from Mr [redacted] ***: KYHC agreed that the dependent could be added back to the date of birth based on meeting special enrollment provisions, however, Kynect needed to generate a transaction and send to KYHC to make the member retroactively eligible for coverage While KYHC approved the policy, limitations in Kynect would not allow them to send the appropriate transaction to add the dependent to the KYHC policy with a retroactive effective date all the way back to May 28, (according to Kynect) According to Kynect, system changes were held during the period of passive enrollment Subsequently, the system fix was made and KYHC received the needed transaction from Kynect The dependent is now showing effective retroactive to May 28,

This Company is horrible They charged me $monthly and then they received a fax Dec 24th KYnect and DCBS sent a fax to Ky Health Cooperative They never responded after over hours on the phone Between Walgreen and Kroeger Pharmacy as well Do not use this company They will take your money and not provide your benefits

This "business" cancelled my insurance at the end of for no reasonI started talking with them in late December to get January insurance, after a week of hemming and hawing, they said they could not give me insurance until February, I paid for Feb insurance in early January and waitedIn early February, they said my insurance was goodOn Feb 16th, I tried to get a prescription filled and was told the insurance wasn't activeThis company said that I owed additional money - they had billed me for months of insurance and said insurance wasn't good until it all was paidThey refused to give me a refund on the time that they had not given me insuranceTheir policies and customer service are ridiculous

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Kentucky Health Cooperative provided lie but nothing elseI started to call them to cancel my insurance in JulyAnd each time when I call to cancel they just tell me it takes days to cancelAlso they didn't send me confirmation on cancelation, just gave me reference numbers what is nothingEvery single time just LIED.I have all confirmation numbers when I called to resolve their issues and lately they were very unpleasant I spoke few times to supervisor Lisa, she knows exactly amount what they own meEvery time they needed to sign something, approve something, again and again days waiting periodThey own me $and I want my money back Regards, [redacted]

February 19, 2016, The Kentucky Health Cooperative (KYHC) has received your letter dated 1/27/ You referenced a previously submitted complaint, however KYHC did not receive a complaint previously We have reviewed the complaint in question and can offer the following information: KYHC keeps an accurate log of all customer service contacts Pursuant to that record, there were multiple calls from the complainant to our customer service center throughout regarding premium payments and clarification of the correct Advance Payment Tax Credit (APTC) issued by the Kentucky Health Benefits Exchange (KHBE), typically referred to as “Kynect” The member called multiple times during August, however never requested a cancellation However the member called to make payments on the account and to dispute the amount of APTC, and was referred to KHBE as that is their determination Member first requested cancellation on September 28, and KYHC requested a termination date of 8/31/from KHBE, as they also handle enrollment and termination requests No premium refund was made until November 30, However, member still had a balance due of $from August Member continues to carry a balance from August and no refund is currently due On January 15, 2016, the Kentucky Health Cooperative was placed into liquidation at the request of the Kentucky Department of Insurance If the member feels that this issue has not been resolved, the member will need to file a proof of claim form with KYHC The form is available on the DOI and KYHC websites (insurance.ky.gov and mykyhc.org)Sincerely, [redacted] Vice President of Government Relations and Compliance Kentucky Health Cooperative, IncOrmsby Station Road, Suite Louisville, KY

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Per my initial request, I would still like a formal apology from the corporate office of Kentucky Health Cooperative and suggest that my calls to their call center be reviewed for quality control purposes Thanks for the refund Regards, [redacted]

Absolutely terrible, KYHC cancelled mine and my sons policy after a payment was a few days late(this is in Jan 2015); they kept receiving my payments (depositing them into their account at >$per payment) while they refused to pay for a doctors visitThey didn't advise of cancelling the policy until mid to late MarchI called their call center, total waste of time and very unprofessionalThey offered to refund some but not all the payments that were made, while the payments covered aforementioned doctors visit; which is basically fraudStay far far away from this group, there's no telling how many other people have been denied service after paying for the services

We have had problems with Kentucky Health Cooperative from day It took about months after initial premium was payed to start our coverage Now I am having trouble with claims from over months ago I have the silver plan which includes no charge on well visits and immunizations I have month old twins and now have $in bills for well visits and immunizations that Kentucky Health Cooperative has failed to pay I contacted Kentucky Health Cooperative with the problem over a month ago and there is still no resolution The problem has been escalated to supervisors twice Their supervisors refuse to contact me back I am waiting one more day before filing a complaint with the Revdex.com Be advised if you are thinking about signing up with this company for insurance BTW I work in pharmacy and let me tell you I am not the only one having trouble Multiple times we have encountered problems where patients have paid their premiums but Kentucky Health Cooperative has the patient as inactive This issue seems to happen frequently the first week of every month I know of one business who dealt with this for months and then switched their coverage to another company Not a bad idea Buyer beware I can make one good statement about this companyThey are an insurance company who sometimes provides service and payments

Refund being processed and should be mailed soon
