Kentucky Lake Remodeling Reviews (10)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The fact remains that the bathroom vents that were installed at our house were not correctly vented to the exterior of the house I have been advised by the state hvac inspector that that this work should have been completed by a licensed contractor, which to my knowledge was not done These vents were allowed to empty into the attic, which allows all the shower steam to collect on the eaves and rafters above In the response I received from Kentucky lake remodeling this fact is not mentioned Regardless of any roof leak, venting hot steam directly into an attic will, and did, cause a great deal of moisture to collect, and eventually drip onto the ceiling The ceiling damage that we have incurred is exclusively located in the area surrounding where these vents were pumping hot steam into the attic for over a year I am not an expert, but I can see the dramatic discoloration in the rafters caused by this moisture located in the area effected by these incorrectly installed vents.I would like to restate that this work should be reviewed by a licensed inspector who can ensure what damages were caused by the incorrectly installed vents, and what may have been caused by a roof leak Kentucky lake remodeling has been to my house, and has again incorrectly vented the bathroom vents During the initial work there was no mention of roof leaks, despite the work being done during severe weather and snow The first mention of a roof leak was made when KLR came to my house to vent the fans to the exterior in the KLR response it is stated the attic had poor ventilation which clearly shows how the initial venting of these exhausts into the attic would indeed cause acute damage I would appreciate a resolution that follows the steps I outlined in my initial complaint This contract was promptly paid in full, and was warentied by KLR I siimply ask that this situation be remedied quickly.Regards, [redacted] ***

Response: It is a fact that we had installed exhaust fans in the bathrooms at the [redacted] Residence. Mr. [redacted] called to let us know that the ceiling was growing mold and was wet. We had gone back to Mr. [redacted]'s residence and explained to him that he has a roofing leak and needs someone to go up and repair it. He also has no venting installed in his attic area which is also the Homeowner's responsibility. We have told Mr. [redacted] that we will gladly replace the insulation and ceilings at no cost to him and even said we will put venting into his attic, even though this is not what was agreed to in our contract. The problem is, if the roofing leak isn't fixed first, the water will still come into the attic, the new insulation will still get wet from the rain and the ceiling drywall will still get wet and of course, cause mold. Mr. And Mrs. [redacted] were both told that the leaking roof is a problem and needs to be corrected. If the [redacted]s would like us to fix the ceilings before the leak in the roof is fixed we will do that, again at no charge to them. But we will need a contract signed stating that they understand that the issues will return without proper roofing repairs. The [redacted]s have had a severe mold problem a long time before we started their remodel and we did everything that we could and were hired to do, to remedy the situation. Without proper roofing repairs I fear the mold will keep coming back. We would be happy to speak with the inspector that Mr. [redacted] had spoken with to get this resolved as soon as possible. We always take before and after pictures so if the before pictures are needed, we can supply them. Sent on: 2/25/2016 11:26:06 AM
