Kerby's Sheds Reviews (4)

Early in the week of November 14th, as I was getting ready to shingle the roof, I opened the bundle of shingles to be used for the ridge cap to find that the color was offI brought it to Mr [redacted] 's attention and told him I was going to return the bundle to the store in exchange for shingles that matchedMr [redacted] replied saying it was no big deal, that the color wasn't too far off, and he stated that no one could see the ridge anywayHe insisted that I should just go ahead and use them so I did.As for his claim that I used the wrong style, there are no other options for making the ridge capOne does not use dimensional shingles for ridge cap, the technique I used is simply standard practiceDuring the process of completing the sale of the shed, Mr [redacted] ordered a ridge vent for the roof, and as a standard construction practice I left a gap from the ridge to the OSB, of 1/inches on both sidesThis essentially allows the heat to escape through the ridge vent from the buildingThere is no "hole" in his roof, the gap is covered by different layers of shingles and a 4' ridge vent and is completely structurally sound.I did receive the phone call and told Mr [redacted] I would fill in these gaps if it bothered him that badly, but told him it would be when I caught up on my current projectHe called me numerous times and upon the third phone call he claimed that he no longer liked the ridge vent that he ordered and wanted me to take it off as well as the ridge cap (shingles) that he approvedI offered to put blocking in from the inside, underneath the roof to cover these gaps but this proposed solution wasn't good enough for Mr [redacted] and instead he wanted me to tear off all the ridge and ridge vent, which is a lot more work, a lot more time and resources for a job that was already completed--per contract--to the customer's satisfactionI told him that if he would purchase the replacement shingles--since he told me to use the existing color even after I offered to exchange them in the beginning and obviously now I couldn't return or exchange them--that I would donate my time to make it rightOnce again this was not enoughHe refused to buy the new shingles, and then threatened taking me to courtAt that point I told him I would only come do all that he requested if he paid me for my time as well since he refused to work with me.In the very beginning Mr [redacted] requested a discount of over $if he would prepare the (3) - 4xrunners and level and block them as he said he wanted to keep the total sale at $3,I agreed at that point, but upon arrival to start the shed I noticed that he didn't even put supports in the centers of the runners and even though I offered a huge discount I still had to spend hours of my time fixing/completing his taskDuring the construction, Mr [redacted] also had me switch out the trim after it was already installed, because he wasn't happy with the look(He had printed off photos from my website showing exactly the material I used, but rather did not like it once it was installed.) I removed it and replaced it with the trim of his choosing, and again I did not charge him for the additional time spent, both in labor hours and time to go purchase the replacement material. The bottom line is this: I already conceded a $discount to the customer, and was more than generous with my time up to this point and flexible so that he was happy in the endHe made his selections, signed the sales contract (available per your request) and after completing the work under his watchful eye, Mr [redacted] signed off on the completed project and paid for the sale in fullIt wasn't until days later that he expressed discontent with HIS choicesI have since offered what I believe to be very reasonable solutions but Mr [redacted] declinedAt this point I am not interested in spending any more money out of my own pocket nor am I interested in spending any more time away from my family to try to appease Mr***r.If you have any further questions or correspondence on this matter please feel free to contact me at this email address or the phone number below. Thanks, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] It appears, we disagree on what actually transpired after I wrote him the checkI talked to him about the next morning about hours after he finished and he said he would repair everything when he returned from vacation, which was fine; of course that never happened and he put it off till the next week and guess what he said he was on vacation again and further delayed the repairsSo, here we are, and I still have two holes in the shed roof
