Review: I purchased a number of items on December 20th and went back to the store today, December 23rd, with my original receipt to return an item I had bought. I was informed that they would only issue a store credit (which is not their usual policy) - even though I had the receipt. The store clerk rudely informed me that I should have read the fine print on the bottom of the receipt, which states that for purchases after December 16th, they will only issue a store credit. I noted that if their return policy is different for the last couple of weeks of the year, they should post it so that customers are aware. She again told me that I should have read the fine print on the receipt. So my complaint is that, while it may be legal, it is certainly bad business to have such a policy without posting it and making it very clear. In addition, the clerk was exceedingly rude. She could have acknowledged that people don't read the fine print on receipts and said that they could make sure customers are aware. All she said was that she doesn't make the rules. When I told her I was so irritated that I wouldn't be returning to the store, she snidely said that was too bad. I noted that if she owned the store, maybe she WOULD care about local repeat customers like me who are trying to support family owned brick and mortar shops, but will only do so if service is good and policies are reasonable. If I knew how to contact the owners of the store, I would do so.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for my purchase, not a store credit, and I would like Kernohan's Toys to either change their December return policy (store credit only) or at least post it so that people like myself understand the rules of the game when making a purchase.
