After getting written estimates from many Roofing Companies, we chose Kerry Roofing to installed a roof on my mom's homeThis company was chosen because of their warranty/one year automatic inspection, and please believe they did an excellent job with the installation of the Roof My only problem with this company was the written estimate that was provided by one of the employees of Kerry Roofing The price that was listed along with the breakdown of the work that was to be completed was not the final charge I was really shocked that there would be an extra charge of $2,added to the already current estimate of $9,
To try to get a better understanding of the written estimate, I had someone from a different company go over the paperwork with charges and they were in agreement with me Also, I learned that any extra Roofing materials (nails, wood, etc.) that were not used during the installation was supposed to remain with us (because we paid for the material), and that did not happen as well
After speaking to the manager who seem to be very understanding concerning my issues, no one bother to refund any of the extra charges (not even returning the unused materials that we paid for) The extra charges did remain even though, to me, the original estimate really did include the additional charges that were added To prevent the chances of a lein or any other legal issues, the extra money was paid in full The lesson learned from this situation is to make sure an itemized estimate is given listing the price of all the needed materials/labor charges and that they are calculated in the final price before a decision is made We know that there are hidden issues when a Roof is being replaced, but for a customer to feel that double charges are involved is not good
