To Whom It May Concern, Our non-profit organization has worked onthe home owners Modification request for over the past 11 months. We were informed (very briefly) that the clients wish to discontinueusing our services for...

Modification purposes. We here at HUD-MakingHome Affordable, take pride in the work we do, we are disappointedthe Lender ( Wells Fargo ) made a negative comment towards us andas a result the borrower/ Homeowner chose to work with Wells Fargodirect. This is at no fault to us here at "HUD-Making HomeAffordable". All documents and payments were forwarded to theLender direct.Yours truly,[redacted]

I don't know why that guy wants his 12.000 back because Kevin in my experience was great. He need things from a customer that are time sensitive and if you don't then you are just hosing yourself and wasting Mr. [redacted]'s time. If you have FHA loan or a HUD loan the the bank has to talk to Mr. [redacted].I had a great experience with Mr [redacted] because I hustled and got what he needed to save my home. I have a lower payment. I also filed a chapter 13 too.Mr [redacted] is great at what he does and if you work hard. He gets it done. I thank you Mr [redacted]

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!! I know someone who was scammed by Kevin Carter and taken for over $10,000, while Kevin put their home into foreclosure. This guy has many aliases and is a professional conman. STAY AWAY!!!

Review: We fell behind on our mortgage payments towards the end of 2014 due to a culmination of several factors...1) My income dropped dramatically, because of reduced hours on my previous job, 2) Health & medical issues I was experiencing at the time, 3) Involved in a serious car accident. that kept me out of work for several months... I applied for assistance through what I thought was HUD...A few days later a gentleman named [redacted] at [redacted]@stopforclosure.us, contacted me stating that he was with HUD and was here to help us in acquiring a loan modification at no charge...We sent in all of the necessary paper work he requested (i.e.,bank statements, pay stubs, tax transcripts, etc.,) and after two or three weeks, he informed us that the lender had agreed to a trial probationary payment in the amount of $1417.32 a month for three months....The payments were to begin in May of 2015 and continue for three months after which , the mortgage amount would be permanent for 30 years. We saw the correspondence between this gentleman and the Lender and assumed that this was legitimate....We(my wife and I) sent in $1418.00 each month, but after the third month we received a loan modification offer from our lender totaling $1955.00 a month...This should have sent up a red flag for me, but I talked with Mr. [redacted] asking him what was going on, and he informed me that because our home was under a VA loan, it would take a bit more effort to get the mortgage to an affordable level...He advised us to reject the offer, send in more pay stubs and bank statements and he would reapply for another loan modification... In the mean time, he advised me to continue to send the $1418.00 a month to the following address HUD Making Homes Affordable, One Park Plaza , Suite 600- office # 241, Irvine California, Zip Code 92614....I asked Mr. [redacted] why I should continue sending money ,since it appeared that the lender wasn't honoring the "trial period" Mr. [redacted] had originally said we were under...On one occasion , Mr. [redacted] told me that the money was being placed in a non interest bearing account and it would be paid to the lender once this matter was settled and we were approved for another program(HAMP, HARP, etc.,); When I asked him again on another occasion, he told me that he was sending the lender the money we sent him to pay taxes and escrow. All totaled, we sent Mr. [redacted]'s HUD-Making Homes Affordable $5,672.00. A short time later, we received another loan modification offer from our lender for $1932.00 a month...I contacted Mr. [redacted] and he basically told me that because this is a VA loan, this is probably the best offer we will be able to get....I also forgot to mention that I am currently in an active bankruptcy status and Mr. [redacted] has insisted that I do not contact my lender...I contacted my lender anyway who explained my options to me clearly and she suggested that I speak with my bankruptcy lawyer as well before signing this latest modification offer....I asked her to check their records to see if they have received any funds from Mr. [redacted]'s company and after carefully checking her records twice, she told me that they had not received any money since December of 2014. I made multiple attempts to contact Mr. [redacted] by phone and he finally sent me an email later in the evening. Mr. [redacted] quickly side stepped the issue(of where our $5,672.00 was) and told me that I should not contact my lender since I was in an active bankruptcy, but we could call the lender together on 09/14/15..I sent Mr. [redacted] an email and left him several messages informing him that either we need him to send our money to our lender or return it to us..I looked this guy up on line later and discovered that there have been other complaints lodged against him for the same unscrupulous behavior. He tells people that they are entering into a trial period, then collects their money for 3-5 months, not sending a dime to the mortgage company.Desired Settlement: We would like to see this unscrupulous individual return the approximately $5,672.00 he collected from us(while he was lying to us and telling us it was going to our mortgage company) or either pay Freedom Mortgage company the funds he collected from us.

Just like another gentleman on your website who filed a complaint I too used the services of [redacted]- hud making home affordable (claims to be an employee of hud) and was told by him that I was entered into a trial/modification program by my lender(Sps) and I should send payments to him in the amount of $2376.63 in cashier check form to hud- making home affordable. After sending him 2 payments my modification was denied. I told him I wasn't going to send any other payments until a conference call transpired between the lender and us. That never occurred. He told me he would wrap things up without any other payment from me. I was told that around oct early nov. In dec 2014 I received my second denial letter. At that point I thanked him for his efforts and requested that he return the 2 payments. He said he sent them to the lender. The lender has made it clear through written documents that no payments were received. I have retrieved copies of the cashed checks which indicate that the were deposited into an account named HUD- making home affordable. To this date he has not returned the 2 payments.

Review: On or around July, 2014 I established contact/communication with an individual by the name of Kevin Carter, representing himself as a Senior Mitigation Consultant of HUD - Making Home Affordable. My contact with Kevin Carter was for the sole purpose of him representing myself and my wife in qualifying for a HUD - Making Home Affordable Program with our mortgage company, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Upon submitting a Wells Fargo Home Affordable Morgtage Program Application to Kevin Carter I received email instructions to start my monthly Trial Period payment in the amount of $1,768.48. I have submitted Cashier Check payments in the amount of $1,768.48 on the following dates: 08/01/14; 08/29/14; 10/02/14; 11/21/14; 12/19/14; 01/30/15; and 02/27/15 - totaling $12,379.36. I have since obtained copies of all cashed checks that were obtained from California Coast Credit Union, 8220 Mira Mesa Blvd., Suite D, San Diego CA 92126. Each Cashier check has been deposited by Kevin Carter as follows: HUD - Making Home Affordable. On 03/12/15 I spoke with Jenna Rowe of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, (855) 803-5719 Ext. 39331, Fax. (866) 590-8910 and was informed that Wells Fargo Home Mortgage does not do business with Kevin Carter.Desired Settlement: I would like my money refunded - $12,379.36 immediately.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

As I previously stated in my complaint to the Revdex.com, I request that Kevin Carter return ALL of my money ($12,379.36) directly to me and not Wells Fargo. As part of my notice to Kevin Carter, terminating him in representing me with my mortgage resolution, I communicated this request directly to Kevin Carter on several occasions and he has failed to respond to email and/or phone calls I made to his office. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage does not acknowledge Kevin Carter in mortgage resolution cases, therefore I request that he comply with my request to return my payments directly to me ($12,379.36) and not Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
