I bought my 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 h.o. from Kevin Powell brand new in September 2013. I put $3000.00 cash down and financed the rest through [redacted] financial. I also purchased a aftermarket set of wheels and tires, also purchased a warranty which I was told it included 4 free oil changes. I took it for my first oil change only to find out that it wasn't free. I had to pay for all oil changes. Also when they put my aftermarket wheels on they actually kept my factory wheels and told me if I wanted my factory wheels, I would have to pay them a extra $300.00, don't see how that is when the factory tires come on the quad originally. I paid about $100.00 for my first service, and my second service. I just took my quad up there for service, they told me I was due for a 100 hour service, don't see how that is correct either because my quad only has 88 hours on it. I dropped it off the called me 2 days later and told me that my quad was ready and my total is $354.00. I was irate, my fiance was with me to pick it up. They told him they serviced the head on the motor, greased fittings, and done oil change, and messed with the differentials. I got it home put it in the building, and I called polaris in high point nc and also called polaris in mt.airy nc and explained what was suppose to be performed in a 100 hour service the said grease fitting, check oil. They said they shouldn't have ever touched my engine what so ever that it is factory sealed and if they broke the seal it can cause me problems in the future, both companies said that engine work shouldn't be done until at least 300-400 hours. So I went outside today to ride my 4 wheeler and there was a big puddle of oil under my 4 wheeler, I had my fiance look at it and they didn't even tighten my oil filter up all the way. So I tried to call and of course it's Saturday and it's 4 o'clock and they close at 3. Also when I paid off my 4 wheeler through lenmark financial 10-13-2015 I requested my certificate of origin finance company let me know they wouldn't have that hut kevin powell would have that, I contacted kevin powell spoke with Brittany, Mike and even requested it when I picked my 4 wheeler up from the service that they said they so called peformed and I was told they didn't know where it was at and I really didn't need it anyway because in the state of north Carolina it's not required. I don't care of it isn't required I want my certificate of origin. I called back to the finance company and spoke with the manager there she said she has been trying to get ahold of mike for 4 days he won't return her calls, or emails. She said she talked to a guy named Matt and he said they did have it and they were suppose to mail it to me well its been another week and still don't have anything. My 5 year old daughters 4 wheeler even has a certificate of origin. When my fiance called and spoke with Mike at kevin powell and bought these issues to his attention he let my fiance know that it was due for 100 hour service, and that his comapny has done nothing wrong. I let them know we wouldn't do service with them again or recommend them to anyone, Mikes response wasn well that's your choice. On my receipt it doesn't even show all services they SAID they performed it shows oil change and grease fittings. I paid 50 dollars for parts and 300 dollars for labor. I will be contacting them Tuesday to discuss my oil filter being loose and see what they have to say about that. I paid my hard earned money to the establishment and they treat you like crap with no respect. I would like to speak to the owner of the whole entire franchise.

Review: on april 16, 2015 I purchased a yamaha sport bike from kevin powell motorsport in winston salem. my first concern was that they financed me on a motorcycle that was already sold and sent me home with the wrong bike. when the financing mananger Matt Leonard did my paperwork he included a warranty but never once asked me if I would like to purchase the warranty. I was told it was something that I needed to have with this bike and it covered everything bumper to bumper. only after reading the warranty and what it covered I found out that it only covered normal wear and tear. all periodic servicing such as oil changes, routine check up, etc is NOT covered. furthermore it only covered certain components of the bike with restrictions. I returned to kevin powell the next day (april 17, 2015) to dispute this warranty and that is when I found out I was financed on a bike that was already sold!! kevin powell had to resubmit a correction form to change the motorcycle to the correct motorcycle and I requested that the warranty be cancelled as well. Matt informed me that he couldnt removed the warranty at all. he stated that the warranty couldnt be cancelled. at that point I pulled the warranty out and referenced the cancellation policy and it was only then that he now retracted his statement about not being able to cancel the warranty and said he could cancel but still showed extreme reluctancy to cancel as I requested. he stated that he would make it a 0 deductible if I keep it. although I still didnt want to keep the warranty I gave it more thought only to return back to kevin powell a week later (april 24, 2015) stating again that I wanted it removed. he said he would submit the paperwork to have it removed and the cost would be credited to the loan principal balance. weeks past and the warranty was still active, I called the american powersports customer service and the representative informed me that the warranty had not been cancelled as of yet by the seller, they also noted this on accountDesired Settlement: 100% full credit with compensation for the inconvience this has been. the loan was cancelled within the 30 day time frame. I have to meet with an attorney now. my interest payments have been affected due to Kevin powell failure to credit the warranty cost back to the principal balance, even to this day it still has not been cancelled per American powersports. the best compensation for the inconvienence, hassle and scam that was ran on me would be for kevin powell to comp the cost of this bike

Response:

We have spoken with Mr. [redacted] and this matter has been resolved. We certainly apologize for any inconvenience that he experienced due to the clerical errors and miscommunication. Generally this would not happen, but in the middle of our busy season, getting the necessary paper work processed, just took longer than it should have. We have corrected those errors along with compensating him for his interest and time. This is not typical for our business, as Mr. [redacted] knows from how happy he was with his first purchase from Kevin Powell Motorsports. We take this second purchase and the mistakes that were made as a learning and teaching experience. We appreciate the time Mr [redacted] took to make us aware of this situation.
