Review: Contractor paid to rebuild front porch on home. Upon city inspection of front porch it was discovered that the delivered product was not built to current state and city codes and regulations.Upon further investigation it was discovered that said contractor is falsely listing himself as a licensed and registered contractor in Connecticut.Desired Settlement: Refund of $2,540.00 which is the total amount paid to contractor. This refund is required in order to have the front porch rebuilt to code by a licensed and registered contractor.

On May 25, 2014, I filed a complaint against [redacted] Key, of Key Construction. The complaint was, the front porch he was hired to build was not in compliance to our town's building codes. My request of him was my money back in full ($2,540), in order to hire another, licensed, contractor to (re)build our porch.

I contacted [redacted] re this matter for the first time on May 1, 2014. I wasn't getting any satisfactory answers for weeks, to the point of my getting frustrated enough to seek outside assistance. He has since told me he had been waiting to get information on the violations I was claiming, in order to rectify the problem.

Last night he came and apologized and refunded the entire amount paid ($2,540). This was all I was looking to accomplish, so I am formally rescinding my original complaint against Key Construction.
