I had my basement finish and Jim Kyser was called in by my contractor to do some ventilation work. Jim told me that I would need a new furnace because my current furnace could not heat the house with the extra square footage that was added on due to the basement re-model. So Jim came out to replace the furnace 2 days after he initially told me he would be out (I had to contact Jim to find out where he was). Jim knows how to make up excuses, I learned that really quickly . So after waiting on Jim to finally get to my house and replace the furnace I made the mistake of trusting that he did quality work. I did not notice how bad of a job that he did until the furnace started leaking. I showed his worked to my contractor who finshed the basement and he could not believe what a poor job Jim had done. PVC pipes were not sealed clamps were not put on at all, screws laying in side of the furnace. He failed to re-seal all of the furnace so air was gushing out of the sides of the furnace and water was leaking from the furnace all over my basement..... every time he came out to fix the problem he did not have the tools/supplies to fix all of the issues even though the Contractor had told him what the problems were and what needed done to fix it. Never once did he take ownership of his poor workmanship.... just continued to make excuses...... for example I showed him one of the multiple leaks and he said oh that just needs some adhesive? (that should have been done during installation). I showed him wear the filter return was detached from the furnace he said oh that just needs some screws ( again failed to put them in when he installed. Showed him where air was leaking from the furnace he said oh that needs sealed... I don't have that with me I will have to come back. ... there are more examples just lost the energy to keep typing. Also, he never made to one of his scheduled appointment times. Jim stood me up multiple times. So I don't recommend this company unless to have time to waste and money to throw away... Sorry Jim Kyser this is the works workmanship I have ever seen and I really don't want to hear anymore excuses. I called an Actual Professional to fix his poor work. IF you don't to believe this my contractor can verify this whole situation.

On a day about a month ago, our central A/C started blowing warm air and I saw ice on the lines at the compressor, I had to find a tech fast.
I searched online and found that Keyser Mechanical was nearby and had strong reviews. I called and Jim answered on the first ring. He said he could be right over and he arrived within 90 minutess. Our 15+ year old coil had failed and he gave us two options, repair and recharge with the expensive R-22 refridgerant or spend a bit more and replace the compressor too. He made it very clear and did not pressure us in one direction but the decision was easy, replace the system.
He was booked up for the next several days but offered to come on the following Sunday morning at 9:00am to replace our units. I shared what my budget was and he recommended a solid unit that met our needs and he had lots of experience with.
Hot days were on the way before he could do the install, so get this, he refilled our old system with R-22 to tide us over until Sunday, at no extra charge!
He contacted us the day before the install date and arrived right on time Sunday at 9:00am. He said it would take 2 hours, and it did. He was friendly, professional and didn't mind me standing over him asking questions as I am a curious sort of person.
The system has been in for about a month and is wonderful. No issues, no problems, highly recommended! I wish all contractors were this reliable and professional. Call Jim!!!
