Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.? For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.1) Response regarding Completion Date: The company stated that the reason the work was delayed was that "the cabinets selected are custom, special order cabinets" that "had to be ordered, built, and delivered", a process that would take "approximately weeks to manufacture and days to deliver."? However, this does not change the fact that 1) the contractor told me in an e-mail that the job? would be done by January 31st AND 2) the contractor told me in NOVEMBER that I needed to immediately sign the contract in order to get the best price on my custom built cabinets.? If this were true, and the cabinets were ordered in November, the job still would have been done on time.? I can only surmise that requiring me to sign the contract immediately (in order to order the cabinets at a lower price), was a scam to have me sign the contract quickly, so as to not take other bids.2) Contractor stated: The trim was installed according to general standard practices.? There was no estimate or inclusion to paint the trim in contract."? Installation of trim was included as part of the contract.? Painting of walls was included in contract.? Trim is part of walls.? Contractor asked me for paint recommendations, without ever stating it was not in the contract,? and painted all trim except for a two foot length.? What is the point of leaving this unfinished?3) Thresholds were installed following complaint.? This has been remedied.4) Contractor stated: "Ordering the last cabinet was held off until the cabinets and tops were in."? However, it was never ordered and the installation of the pantry cabinet was never performed.? Contractor stated "customer mentioned in an e-mail she would just order herself".? I do not recall this and cannot find the e-mail stating this.? If I did say I would order the cabinet - which I do not recall - it was out of frustration over the contractor NEVER providing this cabinet.? I would like the contractor to provide me with this e-mail.? Regardless, I finished paying for cabinets some time ago and if I am supposed to order the cabinet myself, I need the money for this product refunded.? I should not have to pay for this twice.? Cabinets were already paid for and pantry was always to have been included in that amount.? This was clearly stated in the contract.? 5) Contractor stated: "There was no inclusion in the contract for hooking up the water line, and installing shut offs for the new refrigerator."? Installation of the refrigerator was included in the contract.? I was not told that waterline installation would be more money and refrigerator was clearly described to contractor long before installation.? That said, that waterline was installed badly - it has no water pressure, not does the ice maker work most of the time.6) Contractor stated:" The light switch was placed where it was because there was NO slack in the existing wire to love the location of the switch any further."? I asked about the light switch many, many times, including in writing and never got a response until my Revdex.com complaint.? My electrician says this would be easily remedied through the installation of a double switch.? Relocation of outlets never took place at all and this was included in the contract.7) Contractor stated: "Back splash groutis a simple fix and would be happy to schedule."? NEVER did the contractor try to fix this or schedule.? An additional complaint is that the floor is awful - gaps and unfinished.? Flooring was included in the contract and left unfinished.? This contract takes no responsibility for the TERRIBLE job that was done on this kitchen.? I demand a refund, as I am going to have to hire someone to finish all the jobs - the trim painting, the flooring, the pantry cabinet, the grout, the light switch.? In addition the contractor will not provide me with an accounting of what was spent and on what.? The contractor also initially stated that my selected granite was within the lower priced group and told me last minute that it was not, requiring me to spend an extra two thousand dollars.? Given the history of this company and myself, I am inclined to think that this was a scam as well.? This company is dishonest and cares little to none about customer service.? I never got anywhere until I complained and even that did not lead to the job finishing satisfactorily.? This behavior is inexcusable.? Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below1) Response regarding Completion Date: The company stated that the reason the work was delayed was that "the cabinets selected are custom, special order cabinets" that "had to be ordered, built, and delivered", a process that would take "approximately weeks to manufacture and days to deliver." However, this does not change the fact that 1) the contractor told me in an e-mail that the job would be done by January 31st AND 2) the contractor told me in NOVEMBER that I needed to immediately sign the contract in order to get the best price on my custom built cabinets. If this were true, and the cabinets were ordered in November, the job still would have been done on time. I can only surmise that requiring me to sign the contract immediately (in order to order the cabinets at a lower price), was a scam to have me sign the contract quickly, so as to not take other bids2) Contractor stated: The trim was installed according to general standard practices. There was no estimate or inclusion to paint the trim in contract." Installation of trim was included as part of the contract. Painting of walls was included in contract. Trim is part of walls. Contractor asked me for paint recommendations, without ever stating it was not in the contract, and painted all trim except for a two foot length. What is the point of leaving this unfinished?
3) Thresholds were installed following complaint. This has been remedied4) Contractor stated: "Ordering the last cabinet was held off until the cabinets and tops were in." However, it was never ordered and the installation of the pantry cabinet was never performed. Contractor stated "customer mentioned in an e-mail she would just order herself". I do not recall this and cannot find the e-mail stating this. If I did say I would order the cabinet - which I do not recall - it was out of frustration over the contractor NEVER providing this cabinet. I would like the contractor to provide me with this e-mail. Regardless, I finished paying for cabinets some time ago and if I am supposed to order the cabinet myself, I need the money for this product refunded. I should not have to pay for this twice. Cabinets were already paid for and pantry was always to have been included in that amount. This was clearly stated in the contract.
5) Contractor stated: "There was no inclusion in the contract for hooking up the water line, and installing shut offs for the new refrigerator." Installation of the refrigerator was included in the contract. I was not told that waterline installation would be more money and refrigerator was clearly described to contractor long before installation. That said, that waterline was installed badly - it has no water pressure, not does the ice maker work most of the time6) Contractor stated:" The light switch was placed where it was because there was NO slack in the existing wire to love the location of the switch any further." I asked about the light switch many, many times, including in writing and never got a response until my Revdex.com complaint. My electrician says this would be easily remedied through the installation of a double switch. Relocation of outlets never took place at all and this was included in the contract7) Contractor stated: "Back splash groutis a simple fix and would be happy to schedule." NEVER did the contractor try to fix this or schedule.
An additional complaint is that the floor is awful - gaps and unfinished. Flooring was included in the contract and left unfinished. This contract takes no responsibility for the TERRIBLE job that was done on this kitchen. I demand a refund, as I am going to have to hire someone to finish all the jobs - the trim painting, the flooring, the pantry cabinet, the grout, the light switch.
In addition the contractor will not provide me with an accounting of what was spent and on what. The contractor also initially stated that my selected granite was within the lower priced group and told me last minute that it was not, requiring me to spend an extra two thousand dollars. Given the history of this company and myself, I am inclined to think that this was a scam as well.
This company is dishonest and cares little to none about customer service. I never got anywhere until I complained and even that did not lead to the job finishing satisfactorily. This behavior is inexcusable.

July 1,2016[redacted] Revdex.com [redacted]Re: ID # [redacted] - [redacted]:We received your complaint letter dated 4/19/16. The following is our response in an attempt to solve the situation amicably. I will address her points in the order in which they are listed in the complaint.1) Completion date: The cabinets selected are custom, special order cabinets. These cabinets had to be ordered, built, and delivered by the manufacturer to us. The order took approximately 8 weeks to manufacture and another 10 days to deliver. We, as the contractor, have no control over the manufacturing process.2) Trim: The trim was installed according to general standard practices. There was no estimate or inclusion to paint trim in the contract.3) The threshold have been installed.4) The tall cabinet. Ordering the last cabinet was held until the cabinets and tops were in. We wanted to be sure the space allowed for the larger cabinet the customer preferred. The customer mentioned in an email she would just order herself. My response was we would install at no charge and credit costs of the cabinet.5) Refrigerator. There was no inclusion in the contract for hooking up the water line, and installing shut offs for the new refrigerator (we did not supply the refrigerator). Brian did hook up the waterline, provided all materials for the waterline. The cost for that including time and materials is $275.00.6) Light switch. The light switch was placed where is was because the was NO slack in the existing wire to move the location of the switch any further. Lining up the switches would require running addition wire from the box through finished walls up to the switch to line up the switches. This would have resulted in additional cost to the homeowner.7) Back splash grout. This is the first mention of this. Is a simple fix and would be happy to schedule.
8) Electrical- There were no outlets included left of the refrigerator.9)Pulls/knobs. We will be happy to install pulls/handles with in contract budget. In stock selection installation can be scheduled within one day.10) Flooring-There was an Upgrade to flooring cost. The total additional cost was $ 207.58.11)Money. The only additional costs were customer change orders. The granite change order was quoted for an “A” level selection. The customer selected a “B” level which was much more. In an effort to please the customer, we provided the granite at our cost. This cost is a 20% discount off retail. There was also a change order to provide and install back splash tile. Which we did at the cost quoted. Other than those changes, there were NO costs in addition to the quoted price. We were under in obligation to provide the granite or the back splash, but did so at considerable cost to us. There is still an open balance on the contract. The price for cabinets with the discounts were passed to the customer. There was also an issue with the sink drain and disposal. When we attempted to unhook the plumbing to demo the cabinets and tops we were confronted with a drain pipe that was 80% clogged. Knowing this would be a problem, Brian spent time and materials unclogging the years of “gunk” built up in the line. We did not charge for that. Cost for that plumbing would run $ 300-$ 400 depending on the plumber. Did it as a gesture of good will. The demo of the existing floor was a nightmare. There were four layers of vinyl and sub floor which was in addition to the quote. This was mainly an addition of labor issue which Brian let go.We want to have a happy customer and are willing to do what we can within reason to accomplish this result.Regards,Dawn, Keystone Construction.

Review: I contacted Keystone Construction Services about remodeling my kitchen. They gave me what I thought was a fair proposal. I hired them to complete the project, with the understanding (according to e-mail correspondence) that the project would be complete by the end of January. It is now nearly the end of April. The work is not complete and is shoddy in come cases: the trim is only partially painted; no thresholds have been applied to the new flooring with the result that it frequently becomes disjointed; the tall utility/pantry cabinet has never been installed; the refrigerator has never been hooked up to the water line; the lights have been place on two unevenly spaced switches, instead of one double-switch which would make much more sense and be more attractive; there is no grout between the top of the backsplash and the bottom of the cabinets; no electrical outlets were installed on the wall to the left of the refrigerator; no handles or pulls have been installed in the cabinets making them extremely difficult to open. In addition to these issues, the work that has been completed has occurred far too late with constant waiting between reappearances of the contractor. Pricing has also been an issue. I have continuously been asked for more money, which has gone well beyond the estimate. In addition, I was told that if I signed the contract right away in November, I could get a price-break on the cabinets, so I signed immediately. However, later I was told (in February!) that the cabinets had never even been ordered. Therefore, this price difference was either fabricated to cause me to sign earlier and not interview other companies OR the company simply didn't order the cabinets as promised. Either way, this practice was dishonest.Desired Settlement: At this point in time, I am prepared to have the work finished but it must be done by April 30. I will pay out no more money to this contractor and expect the job to be completed quickly, efficiently and also correctly. If the contractor is unable to comply with this request, I require a refund of $5000.00 to pay for the pantry cabinet, as well as the additional work that I will either have to do or hire out to install or repair the remaining items.
