Keystone Window & Door Reviews (3)

Review: Keystone Window and Door was scheduled to install 5 windows in the home of [redacted] on Thursday, July 17, 2014. On July 16th, someone called to say they would need to reschedule for Friday, July 18th. That day no one from Keystone called or arrived for the installation[redacted] placed an order for [redacted] windows on May 16. 2014 and gave [redacted] of Keystone a deposit of $725.00 ([redacted]). Check was cashed May 19, 2014.After repeated attempts to call Keystone and two visits to the business address, our family has had no response. Our family then researched Keystone and determined Revdex.com issued an F rating and found several other negative comments regarding Keystones unreliability with clients and their orders and installations. [redacted], age 93, did locate this vendor via online search in April but did not find the above information that would have caused concern. On Monday, July 21, [redacted] daughter was able to speak with someone at [redacted] Pittsburgh warehouse. He indicated the windows arrived in their warehouse around June 26th but had not been picked up by Keystone.Due to this abuse of trust our family is registering this complaint with the Revdex.com of Western Pennsylvania and the Attorney General of Pennsylvanias Consumer Complaint Bureau.Desired Settlement: If the windows can not be obtained from the [redacted] distributor in Pittsburgh warehouse ([redacted])for an alternate installer, then a full refund of the $725.00 deposit given to [redacted] of Keystone is requested.

Review: On January 22, 2014 we contracted [redacted] of Keystone Window and Door to supply and install 3 windows and a sliding door for our deck. At that time we gave him a deposit of $200. He did say that it would be several weeks until he could get the order in. In early spring, we received a letter saying that [redacted] was not doing well and apologized to his customers saying that there would be a delay in any outstanding orders. We then heard back from him in April that he was doing much better and that the order had been placed. We sent him the remainder of the deposit, $735.00, and we were told that we would be contacted when the windows had come in. In July we got a call from [redacted] saying that the windows were in and that his installers would be in contact with us to set a date for the windows to be installed. They gave us 2 calls, and neither date they had available worked for us. At this point, the only number we had was [redacted]'s so we tried to call him back and set a date. As of the first week in August, we had no response. To this day, the phone number, ###-###-####, gets no answer. The website www.pittsburghwindows.com has also been taken over by a generic ad site.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my $935.00 that was given to Keystone Window and Door with no services rendered.

Review: Correction of problems following installation of aluminum siding, fascia, front door, and porch railing is not being handled in a timely fashion. The job was "completed" in early January, but the snow and frigid weather did not enable a thorough inspection and $2000 was withheld from final payment. $700 of that $2000 has been paid by the customer to repair drywall damage resulting from the installation (coordinated with Keystone), leaving $1300 due to Keystone. Other issues have surfaced since the weather turned warmer. A detailed list of approximately 25 issues was submitted almost 4 weeks ago. Issues include inadequate cleanup of the job site to include dozens of nails throughout the lawn, warping/buckling of siding trim in multiple places due to poor materials and workmanship, improper installation of siding (exposed nails on top pieces), missing and messy caulking, door misalignment, missing railing post cover, corner pieces uncapped, deep ruts and other damage to the lawn, and improper doorbell installation. The door misalignment and doorbell installation issues have been resolved. It was promised that that the nails and other debris would be cleaned from the lawn last week so damage repair could begin. This did not occur, nor were we contacted. The lawn damage repair cannot be started until the lawn clean up is completed as the nails are a hazard.Desired Settlement: Request completion of lawn cleanup and a written action plan (including thicker fascia material) for all other items by 4/18/2014. Request completion of all work by 5/2/2014.Another contractor estimates $3900 to correct the installation issues. Keystone obtained a lawn repair estimate of $175. If issues can't be resolved by 5/2/2014, request cash refund of $2700 in addition to the $1300 currently withheld (total of $4000 off the contracted price)so another contractor can be hired.
