I lived at one of "Kal"'s properties in 2012. The lease signing process was very unprofessional; he had us come sit in his living room for 30 minutes in order to sign it. He never performed maintenance when asked, only when he wanted someone to stop by, despite slipping "notices" under the door saying they would be coming the next day. Even though no one ever showed up. The cherry on top was when I simply asked him what sort of penalty it would be to move out a month early; he told me I would have to forfeit my security deposit, and I never responded back to him. He then proceeded to rent my apartment out a month early without consulting me further. He told me there was nothing he could do to cancel this and in turn I told him I want my security deposit in full. He told me, "okay." Not until TWO months after I moved out did I receive only HALF of it, simply because he claimed my oven and blinds were dirty. I called him to dispute it and he blocked my number. Do not rent from this [redacted] awful man.

The condition of the unit was extremely unsatisfactory - filthy living room carpet that owner was suppose to replace before we moved, dirty, poorly painted walls, broken closet doors, drafty old windows, filthy oven. It's a run-down place. We cleaned the apartment before we moved out like it's never been cleaned before, but owner charged us for allegedly cleaning already dirty carpet even he signed off on it as being clean. It's a scam!
