Review: The company sent me my estimate, I borrowed the money from my 401K account and was then sent a "revised" estimate for $14,000 + more. The estimates had the exact same contents for services excepting the price. I couldn't borrow any more from my 401K because they don't refinance loans. I was told during my visit from the salesperson performing the estimate (2 hours conversing) of how great their work was, how wonderful the business treated their customers, how much the owner did for his employees, how much their employer does for the community, the list goes on and on... He even said that his customers sometimes are so impressed that they "take him out to dinner".

Funny that after a mistake in the estimate by over $14,000 I didn't at least receive a phone call from either the business or salesman if the business "cares" so much.

Also, the business that subsequently paved my driveway (for $10,000 less) informed me that they were told practically the same story from a customer the week before concerning the exact same problem (circumstances of the "revised estimate".

I am rejecting this response because:(1) If this business respected it's customers or prospective customers they would have at the least responded after my placing the call about the "mistake" a $14,000

mistake (not a minor thing). The sales person should have at least called me and apologized in person. (2) It cost me $75 fee to get the loan from my 401K and another $25 for having the check expedited. I guess since the afore mentioned business has gotten some large state contracts, they can treat the little guy whichever way they want. Also if they didn't want the job they could have said it was too small and they didn't do that type of work and not possibly make a second estimate so large compared to the first that the customer would turn it down.

I am rejecting this response because:They just don't get it! They keep talking about proposed overall response and not my personal dealings. The company is wrong about its low prices. The estimate person told me personally that they charge more than their competitors because they do a proposed "better job".They make themselves out to be something they are not. I don't expect any better from them from their impersonal comments, and I accept the fact that this is a pointless attempt on my part.
