I went to Northtown Hyundai with my wife to turn in my current leased vehicle and attempt to get into a new one. From the beginning, I was very upfront about the fact that we were having some credit issues, but the salesman we talked to assured us he could help. After working on some numbers, the information was forwarded to the finance manager, Jim K. Our salesman told us that Jim would get to work on our deal and contact us with our options by Tuesday, September 5.

Jim called us on September 5 and told us that they were not able to approve us for a lease, but tried to get us into something pre-owned. We declined and decided to buy out our leased vehicle instead, which seemingly upset Jim because we weren't buying another car, but instead financing our current one. He told us to come in on Thursday, September 7 to finalize the paperwork.

I received a phone call shortly after the appointment started from my wife, who was there to sign everything. She stated that Jim included a $3500 extended warranty in the financing, which we respectfully declined. Jim proceeded to tell me that approval of the loan was contingent upon taking this optional extended warranty, and proceeded to tell me about all of the features of it even though I had declined the warranty multiple times. He said he would "talk to his GM" and then I told my wife to decline the warranty once more. She then told me that they refused to remove the warranty, and refused to approve the loan without the extra expense.
