Charged late fees after confusion after a being gone for a week.We have never made a late payment. Spring Break 2014 3-10-14 thru 3-14-14. My son went to daycare that Monday 3-10-14, we decided a last minute spring break trip and did not return to daycare until the following Tuesday, 3-18-14. They charged us a full week while he wasnt even there. I agreed I would get that week paid and did so by May 12, 2014. They are charging late fees past the date I paid the past due week. Desired Settlementzero balance and not to deal with Kid Tech at all in the future. Business Response In the initial complaint, she states that she has never made a late payment, but also states that the tuition for the week of 3/10 was paid by mid-April. A good indicator of how invalid the complaint actually is.The tuition for the week of 3/10 was discussed and clarified prior to the partial week absence. Qualification was not met for the requested discount, in accordance with the Policy clearly defined in the Parent Handbook.The account has not had a $0.00 balance since 3/4/14, and all late payment charges were properly applied per the payment policy, also clearly defined in the Parent Handbook. Multiple dates were discussed for when the account balance would be paid, without sufficient action and closure. Services were terminated on 7/11/14 due to refusal to pay the outstanding account balance of $190.Since March, there have been 13 charges of $15.00 for late payment, which is applicable any week that the account is not paid in full. The $15 fee was not charged for several weeks during this period when there was payment above the weekly tuition charge, as some evidence that the balance was being addressed. The total of late fees charged is $195, but effectively have only paid $5.00. All charges are valid.Collection efforts to follow.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We never were late before this ONE misunderstanding, that is what I was stating. Attached is the statement with notes and copies of cleared checks. Kid Tech stated: "The $15 fee was not charged for several weeks during this period when there was payment above the weekly tuition charge, as some evidence that the balance was being addressed"As noted the weeks we did pay OVER the tuition, which are 6 times. We were still charged late fees?Attached are my notes. We do not mind paying the correct late fees which now are 100.00 but paying more late fees is not acceptable, when Kid Tech noted, none were charged when we were paying towards the balance, which is noted.
