consumer until after the account was no longer held by Kidder Music. During the length of the account with Kidder Music, payments were fairly consistent, and were made via automatic credit card charge, web payments, and then later via check. The consumer was obviously familiar with our various payment options, which can be done at any time from any location. There were two times that the account was 60 past due. The consumer responded to the requests for payment and brought the account current. There were no penalties or late fees charged by Kidder Music. We can provide a full payment record if needed. This account was turned over to a collection agency when we did not receive a payment, or a response to our monthly statements or phone calls for over four months. The statements were not being returned to us by the US Postal service, so to our knowledge, they were reaching the consumer. The last payment was made in September of 2015 and the account was turned over to PMC Collection in January 2016. On March 22, 2016, we received a letter from the consumer with an alternate address and phone number listed and a check for payments due October-January. We reported the payment and forwarded the new information to the collection agency, as they now held the account. The account has been paid to the collection agency, who will note it as paid on the consumer's credit report.
Kidder Music never wants to terminate a contract with a consumer; however, unfortunately there are times where there is no other recourse. We are happy to provide copies of the contract, or payment record if necessary.
